The Manager, Catering Operations leads a cross-functional team that coordinates all convention/group activity in Resort and Park Operations and the execution of those meetings and events held in the Resorts, theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports, and Downtown Disney.
You will report to the Senior Event Operations Director.
You Will:
On any given day, as a Manager, Catering Operations, you might:
Lead a team to provide outstanding service and create memorable experiences for our guests.
Lead the development and maintenance of positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are not only met, but exceeded.
Partner with Finance to ensure appropriate revenue and profitability metrics are used to evaluate the business, as well as, develop annual Capital Planning budget
Manage the guest/client standards and measurements that drive consistency and outstanding service
Build, lead, and improve overall key relationships in the Group and Convention business
Participate as an active member of the Walt Disney World Catering Line of Business Leadership Team meeting
Supervise a team of salaried and hourly Cast Members.
You Will Have:
Here is what you need to be successful at this job:
A minimum of 5 years Catering/Conventions or other Food & Beverage event experience
Proven leadership skills able to develop a highly dedicated team
Ability to optimize financial performance through efficient and effective allocation of labor and other expense resources, to generate high quality food service and event execution
A solid understanding of Food & Beverage Catering logistics, menu design, food beverage quality assurance, safety, and sanitation
Outstanding relationships skills and ability to partner across multiple functions and leaders of all levels
Ability to influence thinking and apply complicated strategies
Experience developing financial forecasts and budgets and ability to interpret financial results
Ability to understand emerging and current technologies supporting all lines of group business
Knowledge of computer technology, including use of email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Flexibility to work various shifts within a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays
It would be great if you also had:
Shown career experience within in Group & Convention business/industry
Shown knowledge of Walt Disney World and its company organizational structure
Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement experience
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
