Job Summary:

An employee at this level manages professional employees and/or supervisors of others. Responsible for adapting departmental plans/priorities to guide team objectives and accountable for performance/results in own area. Guided by policies, procedures and business plans that are overseen by their leader.

The Manager, Change Management is responsible for the development, support, and execution of organizational change management strategies and processes for defined projects related to the company’s financial systems as well as select front-of-house systems. This includes building a comprehensive change management plan that addresses all constituent needs and incorporating those into detailed training and communication plans, while ensuring that deliverables will meet the business needs and objectives culminating in the ultimate successful adoption of the defined project objectives.

The successful candidate will combine a solid understanding of organizational change management dynamics with the ability to incorporate segment specific requirements and corporate resources into a comprehensive strategy. They must have the ability and initiative to understand critical business needs, analyze issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop scalable solutions. Candidates must be self-driven with a high degree of ownership and have strong business acumen, excellent communication/influencing skills, and planning/project management skills. They must thrive in a fast-paced environment and develop innovative solutions that scale. This includes staying current on change management, learning, and development research and possessing strong public speaking and facilitation skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Function as an organizational change management (OCM) subject matter expert to support and guide program/project delivery
  • Provide thought leadership to Project Teams on organizational change management best practices at Disney
  • Provide/support the standardized Disney change management strategy focused on key outcomes, yet flexible to unique project needs and supported by a variety of toolsets and approaches
  • Develop and document full Change Management plan, including documentation for communicating the plan with executive stakeholders and business leaders
  • Perform needs and readiness assessments - conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders
  • Implement communications and training strategies - support the design, development, delivery, and management of communications
  • Develop and execute tactical change and communication plan, as part of the overall project plan, in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • Develop and execute specific communication messages for the varying levels of the organization directly and impacted by the change, at critical stages of the project for employees, managers, and higher leadership levels.
  • Act in a facilitation, mentoring, and quality review capacity for OCM deliverables on various Disney initiatives and projects
  • Provide guidance to ensure that OCM deliverables comply with Disney organizational change standards supported by internal Disney technical standards and platforms
  • Where requested, help diagnose and develop recommendations to solve complex, ambiguous problems related to stakeholder management, communications, training, change adoption, and resistance management
  • Guide the creation of "win/win" solutions through facilitation and teamwork
  • Resource for leadership to help personnel through changes
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to various individuals within the Project Management, Business Analyst, and business improvement communities

Skills/Competencies:

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle - to create and implement engagement and training strategies
  • Strong project management skills with ability to oversee multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills to determine organizational needs, develop strategies to meet those needs, and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Strong people skills - ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization both written and verbal
  • Expert ability in creating presentations and training materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 7 years previous experience leading and/or delivering change management programs in the financial services discipline/industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial systems and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent/expert technical aptitude
  • Understanding of adult learning principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Change Management certification
  • PMP or other professional project management certification
  • Ability to self-manage in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Solid project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and doing whatever it takes to deliver reliable results
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication abilities including skills in explaining technical topics to novices and collaborating with subject matter experts, global stakeholders, and managers
  • Experience supporting global audiences with unique content and communications needs
