Job Summary:

This role serves as the thought leader for the advanced analytics programs at the credit union. This role will serve as the expert in understanding the business needs and opportunities cross-functionally and in identifying, matching and developing the scientific method that supports strategic decision making and a culture of experimentation. The role will play an active role in developing models and leading/coaching a growing team of analysts within the business intelligence team. This thought leader must present with a high level of business acumen to apply analytic solutions where the business requirements may not be as clear and must be able to lead the analytic journey for the BI team and the credit union. This individual will also serve as a chief resource in training and teaching rising analysts around the organization where analytics resources need to be developed.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of industry experience using advanced analytical methods in a business environment
  • Proven knowledge of advanced analytical/statistical methodologies and required data to support them
  • Proven experience in SQL and other data retrieval and organizational tools
  • Proven experience in advanced analytics modeling tools such as R, Python, or comparable programming languages
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, QlikView, Spotfire, R studio visualizations, PowerBI)
  • Proficiency with relational database systems
  • Proficiency with MS Office package, especially Excel
  • Demonstrated ability and proven results exemplifying initiative, project management skills and accuracy/detail orientation
  • Embraces the power of teaching difficult subjects with easy and simplicity
  • Strong analytical but creative thinker with very strong problem-solving skills
  • Extreme curiosity about data with a strong desire to learn new things
  • Excellence in customer service through strong communication and time management
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible/nimble through evolving requirements
  • Strong ability to work with team members who may not be as familiar with advanced analytic technique

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MS BI Stack of tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, Applied Economics or related field

Preferred Education

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, Applied Economics or related field
