- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

The QA (Quality Assurance) Engineer is responsible for performing the following:

  • Developing test plans for projects

  • Creating test cases

  • Executing test cases and tracking results

  • Managing the defect resolution process

  • Managing assigned service requests related to business as usual (BAU) or enhancement work

  • Developing, facilitating approval of, and implementing QA processes and procedures

  • Developing knowledge of corporately used: applications, core systems, networks, and operating systems

  • Building working relationships with internal and external partners

  • Ensuring the integrity of the QA process by promoting standards and advocating the use of best Practices

  • Executes test cases; report results

  • For both manual and automated testing: execute test cases per the test plan, document successful testing, document bugs

  • Create Test Summary Report for more complex projects.

    Responsible for the creation of the template used by the QA team

  • Created automated test scripts using available tools

  • Create test cases

  • Creates Epic level testing strategy and ensures test plans adhere to the strategy

  • Manual Testing for more complex projects: Develop and Document Test Cases within the Testing Tool

  • Manage defect resolution

  • Set up and facilitate regular defect meetings for the project,

  • Ensure that defect status is updated regularly

  • Work with team to prioritize the order in which defects are worked

  • Provide regular defect reports to the Product Owner

  • Develop test plans that meet the following quality guidelines: contains accurate and complete information with no unnecessary items included, initiate review of test plan by project team, obtain appropriate approvals on test plan, responsible for creation of test plan template

  • Develop, facilitate approval of, and implement QA processes and procedures within an Agile Environment

  • Work output meets the standards of the QA team with minimal feedback from peer or leader review. Standards include; use of appropriate template, formatting, grammar, spelling and word usage.

  • Point of contact for PO on QA estimates, product quality, and automated test coverage. Provides feedback on backlog prioritization

  • Understands broader Agile software development concepts and introduces ideas for consideration within team.

  • Manage assigned service requests related to BAU/enhancement of work

Required Qualifications 

  • Basic Programming Skills
  • Waterfall and Agile Development Methodologies
  • Internet Safety and security standards
  • SQL
  • Experience with automated testing tools (Selenium, and page object model or others)
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience
  • Well organized and good time management
  • Responsible and independent
  • Able to take intiative and work on multiple projects at one time
  • Attentive to details, strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in problem solving skills
  • Able to be flexible and adjust to changes in business needs
  • Occasional schedule flexibility to perform testing as part of after-hours software installs
  • Able to work well with individuals at all levels and work well with project teams of varying sizes

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Computer Science degree or related field
    • M.A. / M.S. / MBA
    • Experience in financial services industry (esp. credit unions)
    • Github
    • NodeJS
    • Jenkins (running jobs)
    • Experience with Smartbear suite of tools
    • Working knowledge of Symitar (core admin system)
    • Networks, Operating Systems, Internet Products and Services, Java applications, Tomcat and content mgmt systems
    • XML, CSS Javascript, jQuery
