As a Regional Recreation Proprietor, you will run the daily operations and as a Leader in Resorts, you will be a key operational decision maker in connecting the recreation and aquatic experiences, along with safety to enhance the overall Guest and Cast experience. You will report to the General Manager.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead all aspects of the daily recreation operations across multiple resorts

  • Engage on a regional scale through your daily interactions and support of multiple General Manager/Hotel Managers

  • Ensure effective communication with GMs, Hotel Managers, Proprietors, Guest Experience Managers, line of business and regional team through regular updates

  • Train, mentor, empower, engage and provide feedback to leadership and Cast Members

  • Provide strategic direction by collaborating and influencing executives, peer group, and line of business focusing on improving experiences for Guests and Cast Members

  • Build, implement, and accomplish approved initiatives leveraging the 5 Keys Basics: Safety, Courtesy, Show, Efficiency and Inclusion

  • Drive the Key Performance Indicators by ensuring the implementation of strategies crafted to get results

  • Maintain all required certifications and/or licenses and at a minimum attend the Lifeguard Certification class

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 5 years of Leadership experience within a large department in resort or park operation (recreation, front office, custodial, housekeeping, food & beverage, merchandise, or attractions)

  • Pass and hold an active lifeguard license identified by the company

  • Use of a unique approach to implement new Disney products and intellectual properties into resort experiences

  • Ability to resolve concerns and serve as a trusted advisor for Cast Members, Peers, Partners and other Leaders

  • Ensure an environment where safety is the first priority

  • Proven eye for business, including but not limited to budgeting, labor management supply management, reporting, and strong analytical skills

  • Experience with using partnerships across all resort functions

  • Ability to collaborate with others to move the operation forward to the next level of excellence

  • Proficiency in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a Windows environment and other technologies

  • Schedule availability to include weekends, variable shifts, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years experience Recreation Leader

  • Previous experience working at a luxury property, aquatic facility or Disney Resort Hotel in a leadership capacity

  • Experience leading in a unionized environment

  • Current CPR Certification or Ellis Lifeguard Certification

  • Multilingual skills in Spanish, Creole, or Portuguese


  • High school degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Sports, Education/Childhood Development or equivalent field
