As a Senior Event Services Manager, you will service large, sophisticated groups and conventions. This role acts as the primary point of contact for our convention clients, through the event planning process and the onsite Walt Disney World experience, throughout our Resorts, Convention Centers, Theme Parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports, Water Parks, and Disney Springs. A high level of guest service is encouraged, while customizing and selling Walt Disney World experiences. You will be responsible for organization of all event logistics for internal and external events. Event Services collaborates with numerous teams across Walt Disney World, including the Disney Event Group, Park Event Operations, Resort Operations, and Disney Institute. You will also help mentor Cast and influence partners across the organization.
If selected for this role, you will report to the Event Services Director.
This is a Full -Time Role.
You Will:
Work with high value Group and Convention clients to prioritize and implement their events across Walt Disney World Resorts and Parks; with a focus on long-term legacy clients and those with high level Disney relationships
Manage contracts, room blocks, food and beverage, audio visual, entertainment, theme park events, theme park tickets, transportation, and all logistics
Mentor and provide developmental opportunities for Event Services Managers, Event Services Coordinators, and Assistants
Possess outstanding Guest Service skills and the ability to consistently seek out innovative ways to surprise and delight our Guests, and drive repeat business
Have a talent for developing partnerships and work with all team members in the organization
Ability to service groups with high level of complexity as Event Service Manager is responsible for being knowledgeable of all products and services at Walt Disney World
Creativity to approach problems across multiple teams in creative ways to achieve desired outcomes
Ability to uphold a professional business image and presentation of excellence through professional dress, written and oral presentations to include the ability to run effective meetings
Collaborate with a multitude of Clients, both internal and external, and clearly articulate needs to bring forward solutions for partners and Clients
Understanding of food and beverage, production, and event improvements
Flexibility in scheduling is critical; Event Services is seven days a week, 24 hours a day dedication.
You Will Have:
Solid event planning experience is needed, preferably in a resort environment; Food and Beverage, Front Office, or Theme Parks
Proven track record working with high level Disney leaders or with C-suite level clients
Proven experience to orchestrate events for groups with rooms and meetings across multiple resorts with numerous collaborators, for high value, very sophisticated groups
Strategic understanding of the business objectives associated with different markets and what clients are trying to accomplish
Ability to proactively anticipate any potential group challenges and elevate concerns/solutions
Capability to plan sophisticated groups with minimal oversight from leadership
Creativity to find solutions in new ways and improve the Guest and Client experiences
Experience proactively mentoring direct reports
Talent for developing partnerships and work with all team members in the organization
Proficiency in basic computer functions vital to operate in a Windows environment and other technologies
Schedule availability to include weekends, variable shifts, and holidays
Demonstrated Guest service skills
Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
It would be great if you also have:
Demonstrated experience in Food & Beverage Management, Event Services or Catering Operations Experience
Event planning, event services, or Catering operations experience
Knowledge of Walt Disney World procedures
Knowledgeable of all convention resort function space and all Theme Park venues
Confirmed understanding of rooms and related line of business
Experience conducting planning sessions and lead time lines for all operating areas and Clients
Solid understanding of Food & Beverage
Proven understanding of Entertainment line of business
Knowledge of convention contract management
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Current or recent Event Services or Catering Operations Experience
Proficient in DSCS and Siebel Systems
Education:
Bachelor's Degree of equivalent experience
Preferred Education:
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification
