About the Role & Team

The Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team is responsible for supporting clients across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) including Disney Experiences (Parks, Cruise Line, Consumer Products, etc.), Disney Entertainment (ABC, The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Theatrical, Disney Streaming Services, etc.), ESPN, and Corporate Finance.

DDSI’s Decision Science Product team leverages advanced analytics, technologies, statistics, econometrics, and data science modeling to explore opportunities, shape business decisions, and drive business value.  This includes conceptualizing, designing, developing, and maintaining solutions for internal use. The Decision Science Product team partners with DDSI’s decision scientists, data engineers, and application developers to implement and support systems that maximize business value and improve outcomes for TWDC’s Guests, Cast Members, and Shareholders. DDSI seeks data-driven and business-minded team members who are passionate about learning TWDC’s businesses, forming strong business relationships, and delivering value through analytics.

As Senior Decision Science Product Consultant, you will define, implement, test, support, and enhance the Disney Cruise Line Revenue Management System. You will use your experience to connect with clients and brainstorm ways to better support business decisions, representing DDSI as an analytics thought partner.

Candidates invited to interview will be required to complete a technical assessment to demonstrate proficiency with SQL, Python, R, or similar languages.

What You Will Do

  • Product Developer – You will work in a team environment to support the assessment of business needs, requirements gathering, solution design, delivery, testing, and measure performance of the solutions.
  • Internal Consultant – You will act as a Company-wide consultant, with a particular focus on the Disney Cruise Line Revenue Management System, leveraging advanced analytics and complex science models to solve business problems and drive business value
  • Problem Solver – When presented with new challenges, you will research and network to find solutions, evaluated within the context of business impact.
  • Technical Lead – You will extract data for analysis, seek out answers to business problems, engineer software solutions, and look for opportunities to automate processes.
  • Business Partner – You will support communication with stakeholders, seek to learn, understand, or potentially challenge processes to create greater efficiencies and benefits.
  • Strategic Partner – You will engage with clients for projects that drive value, improve business efficiencies, or guide strategy development.
  • Storyteller – Through polished presentations, deliver and effectively communicate key insights, findings, and recommendations in a concise, actionable, and efficient manner to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum five years as Product Manager or Product Owner for technical software-based solutions or similar experience
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, R, or similar, to manipulate large datasets
  • Proficiency in data visualization technologies, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies such as waterfall and agile techniques, requirements definition, solution design, UX/UI designs, quality assurance, and release management
  • Proven experience translating business requirements into technical product specifications and iterating throughout requirements implementation
  • Demonstrated experience performing exploratory and quantitative analysis
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to address both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience driving projects forward along timelines and roadmaps while adapting to changing client priorities, business conditions, and technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with design and prototyping tools like Figma, Moqups, etc.
  • Experience with the fields of revenue management or pricing
  • Experience automating software deliverables in a CI/CD environment
  • Experience with statistical methods, forecasting, and/or optimization
  • Experience in technical debugging and root cause assessment
  • Experience in quality assurance
  • Experience with ETL processes

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Data Mining, Analytics, Management Science, or other quantitative field, and/or equivalent work experience
