- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for proactively partnering with multiple layers of management for all business units to identify internal control opportunities and weaknesses, assimilate a plan of action, recommend process improvements, and strengthen the control environment

Specific tasks will vary but may include observing operational procedures, reviewing policy and procedure documents, assessing beginning-to-end financial processes, and making actionable and prudent control recommendations based on the analysis 


  • Assess and estimate risks to the business with emphasis on financial loss 

  • Recommend process improvements to improve control environment 

  • Act as primary point of contact for line of business partners and other key stakeholders 

  • Influence partners to support implementation of control recommendations 

  • Ensure sound controls with major system changes and implementations 

  • Conduct on-site evaluation of operational processes 

  • Review of operating guidelines, training, and other company process documents involving controls 

  • Develop annual assessment plan and execution for assigned line of business 

  • Provide informal guidance to A&A Financial Analysts 

  • Communicate status of projects to leadership 


Basic Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years’ relevant Finance/Accounting/Financial Systems/Park & Resort Operations or equivalent work experience 

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively assess risks and propose preventative and detective solutions to strengthen control environments and mitigate loss 

  • Proven ability to prioritize and self-manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently 

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information 

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, and address last-minute requests in an efficient and effective manner 

  • Ability to maintain strong client partnerships and influence partners/peers to drive results 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including executive level presentations 

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver concise written summaries and recommendations 

  • Experience with learning new systems quickly 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems using critical thinking  

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, Point-of-Sale and other core Disney systems 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere 

  • Analyzes problems effectively and takes action to resolve issues 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Internal Controls Auditing, Finance, Accounting, and Financial Systems experience or equivalent 

  • Prior operations or loss prevention experience in Ticketing, Front Desk and Recreation businesses, preferably in a theme park or resort atmosphere 

  • Strong understanding of Disney Gift Card financial processes and associated risks 

  • Experience developing system and financial reports using tools such as Business Objects, Tableau, and similar 

  • Experience with financial processes, i.e., Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Revenue Recognition, Cost of Sales, and Inventory 

  • Experience implementing creative process improvements including systematic and efficient solutions such as converting to paperless, automated approval workflows, mobile apps, etc. 

  • CFE certification 


Required Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business fields of study
