The Telecommunications business is no longer restricted to traditional voice calls. The latest telecommunication systems run on the same networks as video and data systems, enabling the integration of voice, data and video in sophisticated communication applications that improve our Guests experience while vacationing at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The DTSS – Telecommunication Business Office supports six core operational services; Computer Repair, Print, Video, Voice/PBX, Cabling and Wireless/Cellular/Radio as well as business funded projects

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life…
The Telecommunications Business Analyst Intern will support the Business Office. This position will provide financial, accounting and research support to ensure communication of financials to our partners in terms that align with the services that Telecom offers.
  • Develop meaningful metrics for analysis of operational performance that will be communicated to the business
  • Develop and drive timely and accurate audit reports
  • Work with stakeholders and partners to improve processes and standards based on the result of each audit
  • Provides and creates reporting for overall support for Telecom Managers as needed and/or directed
  • Researches and identifies issues and trends for reporting
  • Validates and ensure costs are accurate and up to date for financial reporting
  • Creates and customizes reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis for financial and accounting reporting related to budget, forecast and current costs

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be an excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator in both oral and written settings
  • Able to translate financial information to various business audiences to drive decision making
  • High energy level; strong work ethic
  • Self-driven, independent thinker
  • Results-oriented, decisive
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Minimum 3.7 GPA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen; Excel modeling
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management, specifically Senior Management

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Finance, Business Administration or closely related field

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 through January 2019
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Orlando area
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
