ResponsibilitiesPerforms operational functions of an Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility. Participates in the analysis and troubleshooting of operational concerns using available data and follows the proper course of action to meet plant operating objectives.
Work will be performed under the general supervision of a designated Working Foreman. Work can be physically demanding at times under hazardous conditions, requiring close contact with different chemicals while wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This is an Advanced Wastewater treatment plant that operated 24 hours 7 days a week, and may require Operators to work overtime. Operations consist of 3 shifts per day that are selected based on classification seniority.
- Experience collecting and processing samples
- Ability to analyze and interpret data in accordance with approved protocol.
- Maintain operational database and record keeping.
- Monitor and respond to facility SCADA system.
- Perform quality checks and respond to trouble calls.
- Operate and maintain chemical feed systems.
- Operational knowledge of collections/transmission of wastewater, AWT wastewater treatment process, including biosolids handling and reuse distribution.
- Proficiency and use of all computer software used in Wastewater Treatment Plant operation.
- Possession and active status of FDEP Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator minimum class C license.
