Associate Manager, Technology (Project Delivery Lead)

Job Summary:

The position will work closely with the project leader to deliver and support Point-of-Sale solution by overseeing and monitoring the implementation of multiple project workstreams that rollup to a program. The role will apply project management principles, practices, and techniques to control project schedule, scope, quality, cost and risks, and be self-motivated to coordinate and align activities of the project team. This person must be good in communication, with sound background managing technology projects, and have a high level understanding of product roadmaps, business processes and potential downstream system and business impacts from project planning and execution. The role will interface with internal and vendor peers, and line of business stakeholders across time-zones to ensure collaboration at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business requirements and deliver technical Point-of-Sale and payment solutions to support the company’s Merchandise and Food & Beverage operations.
  • Monitor and keep track of SDLC project delivery activities in accordance with project plan, including user requirement consolidation, phasing and scoping, environment provisioning, technical implementation, test cycles and system cutover.
  • With sufficient technical and domain understanding to oversee and assess delivery lead time and dependencies across project workstreams of the overarching program.
  • Identifies and evaluates risks associated with project activities and takes appropriate action to mitigate.
  • Drive collaboration and alignment between multiple internal and external partners.
  • Facilitate project meetings with clear agenda with partners as needed to liaise issues and action items.
  • Proactively coordinate actions to remediate issues and roadblocks as they emerge.
  • Independently conduct regular sync-up calls to maintain status visibility among core project leads.
  • Articulate key messages for communication to board audience of the project team in effective manner.
  • Prepare presentations, visualization and reports for Steering Committee and Project Management Office updates.
  • Coordinate schedule, resources, and logistics for SIT, UAT, system training and change deployment.
  • Ensures timely completion of tasks, maintaining project schedules and milestone dates.
  • Keep track of issues, dependencies, assumptions, risks.
  • Support project leader to track financial actuals and ensure expenditures be within budget.
  • Maintain project management-related documents.
  • Assist planning of on-going maintenance and support models.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred
  • 1 – 6+ years of proven experience in implementation and support of IT systems
  • Project management experience working with technical teams delivering solutions
  • Ability to understand architectural, infrastructure and technical aspects of technology projects
  • Excellent organizational, written and spoken communication and time management skills with attention to details
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale systems
  • Understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps and testing concepts is an advantage
  • Understand and experience with AWS Cloud based solutions is a bonus
  • Quick learner to gain good understanding of the project and business context, and the company’s eco-systems
  • Self-motivation and prompt responsiveness.
  • Capable of planning and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and discern competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrate as a good team player and can work on own initiative
  • Willing to liaise between multiple local and overseas work partners.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
