Job Summary:

To plan, organise and supervise the Themed Finishes Construction activities to be carried out on the WDI Hong Kong Projects with the objective of being in accordance with the specifications, drawings, schedules, site QA/QC and Safety programmed requirements and within budgeted cost levels.

Plan, monitor, assess resources, direct and act to ensure adherence to the construction program in order to complete the Project within the contract period:

· Provide hands on construction management supervision in order to ensure project is delivered on time and on budget

· Participate in the development and execution of design, procurement and construction strategies

· Coordinate construction sequencing between project team members according to project scope

· Liaise with CM, Estimator, Contract Administrator and Scheduler to ensure scope changes are managed within an acceptable time frame and respectful of project administration procedures

· Make sure construction is proceeding in accordance with drawings, specs, programme, QA/QC plan, Safety plan

· Be responsible for construction planning and work methods and for the adequacy of resources employed


Determine and monitor work methods and performance of Contractor(s) and Employees in order to ensure compliance with their obligations and WDI Hong Kong Projects management plan:

· Ensure close liaison with CMs, Superintendents and FADs at all times to optimize use of Contractor and Labor & Logistics resources

· Ensure appropriate training and support is provided for subordinate staff as necessary to achieve best practice in construction techniques

Regularly review Safety policies at work site in order to ensure a safe work environment, in line with the WDI Hong Kong Projects management plans:

· Ensure site safety is in compliance with WDI Hong Kong’s Projects Safety Plan and all local regulations

· Obtain a good understanding of WDI Hong Kong Projects Safety policies

Advise and provide input into negotiation and selection of Contractors, Vendors and Suppliers in order to meet project cost and quality:

· Make sure Contractors, Vendors and Suppliers are comprehensive in scope and detail and consult with CM and Contract Administration in their preparation and negotiation

Manage terms and deliverables for the contracts in order to protect WDI Hong Kong Project risks and obligations:

· Work closely with the Contract Administration to ensure all aspects of the contracts are complied with

Provide input into cost control in conjunction with CM and Contract Administration in order to manage project cost and risk:

· All construction records, returns and forecasting

· Confer regularly with Project Controls, Construction Engineers, Superintendents, FADs and Contractors to review project progress on an informal basis and within regular meetings

· Monitor costs of construction at all times and reported in line with contract policy and all opportunities are taken to minimize costs

Coordinate design deliverables in order to issue to Project Team areas of program:

· Coordinate the planning and organizing of resources with Construction Engineers, Superintendants, FADs and Contractors

· Check Superintendents and Contractor’s diaries and countersign with Contractors on a daily basis

Coordinate interfaces between WDI Hong Kong staff and Contractors in order to ensure project requirements are managed:

· Maintain professional relationships with WDI Hong Kong staff and Contractors

· Maintain an accurate site diary of all activities and progress which may have implication on contracts and project deliverables

Basic Qualifications:

Qualifications and Education: Degree in relevant architectural and/or construction management discipline

Experience: 10 - 15 years’ experience in construction of major projects with a minimum of 5 years experience in Management of Themed Construction activities
· Relevant construction site experience on large themed facilities projects and/or theme park projects
· Have managed teams from different disciplines
· Exposure to design and building contracts
· Exposure to the demands of a large construction project
· Have active roles in management of projects in the region

Training and knowledge: Training and/or knowledge in International and local Building Codes and standards for all architectural trades. Training and/or knowledge pertaining to AutoCAD drawings and 3D BIM; Training and/or knowledge in MS Office and other desktop analytical, reporting, and presentation software and scheduling and Company’s specific construction management systems

Business Understanding: Budget and cost management, value engineering, constructability, schedule and planning, overall facilities construction and coordination, HR

Additional Information:

· This position may require the individual to be on call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to respond to any given problem which may affect the good course of the project

· This position may require some international travel to support the project development and remain current in the industry

· This position is set in a multi-Cultural work environment that requires understanding and sensitivity of the unique needs, diversity and motivational factors of the project workforce

· This position requires extensive time in the office and in meeting rooms working on computer screens and leading meetings in conference rooms

· This position requires extensive time “in the field” coordinating, surveying and monitoring construction, installation and code compliance. These activities require the individual to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs & ladders, see, hear, feel and smell in various work environments including indoor/outdoor facilities, rooftops, catwalks, high reaches, scaffolding

· This position requires a very knowledgeable and competent individual to be responsible for the safety of all company/contractor employees. Along with this responsibility comes a need for high ethical standards and accurate assessments and evaluations to sustain the highest quality results
