The Director, HR Business Partner is responsible for guiding the development of HR strategies that will attract, develop and retain the breadth of talent required to drive client business success while optimizing the overall employee or cast experience. Additionally, this role will facilitate and lead integrated and strategic HR solutions that will advance the employee experience for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL). The Director is also responsible for leading a team of HR business partners focused on developing and delivering integrated HR solutions and services inclusive of Strategy Development, Organization Design, Talent Management, Organization and Cast Effectiveness, Change & Transition Management and Functional Integration.


This position requires an individual that can assess business situations as well as identify and implement the appropriate business, organization and/or people strategy solutions. The Director works closely with business leaders and HR functional partners to develop and implement comprehensive and integrated human capital strategies that proactively address all major HR areas: talent acquisition, organization development, performance management, talent planning and career development, leadership development, cast engagement, compensation and rewards, learning, etc. The Director is an active and contributing member of the executive community for the Resort.

This leader must have the skills, judgment, intuition and experience to operate in a complex environment with a degree of autonomy, and independence. The Director, HRBP will work closely with VP, HR and CoE directors; s/he will need to demonstrate excellent problem solving, partnership and leadership capability within the HR organization, HKDL as well as with Walt Disney Parks & Resorts HR organization and Line of Business leaders.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 plus years in increasingly responsible Human Resources roles including experience at building a strong, contemporary and value added HR team
  • Broad business and financial understanding and the ability to apply to human capital implications
  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business/financial data and develop innovative and holistic HR solutions that are forward thinking and growth oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous priorities
  • Resilience to work within a complex organization and find creative solutions
  • Strong executive consulting and client relationship skills
  • Proven collaboration skills with the ability to gain consensus through personal influence
  • Proven ability to manage conflict and the courage to challenge organizational thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to invite diverse perspectives, promote an inclusive work environment and support workforce diversity
  • Willingness to work and integrate with multiple partners
  • Demonstrated integration and strategic planning skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills
  • Regional/China experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English, oral and written proficiency in Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) is a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • Master of Business Administration
