Logistics Operations Manager, The Disney Store

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Logistics Operations Manager to join our global logistics team for The Disney Store. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Logistics Operations, this is a full-time permanent role based in our office in London.

Responsibility for managing our flow of information and product from origin (predominantly Asia) to our distribution centre in the UK, and for managing all aspects of logistics client relationship and customer service policy commitments for all product destined for The Disney Store.

You will manage the following aspects of logistics including, but not limited to: logistics systems management; Supplier relationship management; Client relationship management; supply chain partner relationship management; logistics contracting; transportation daily flow services; freight audit/payment and logistics projects which achieve service level commitments while minimising costs.


Daily Operations Management
  • Manage logistics daily operations for the EMEA region
  • Manage efficient product flow and strategies to meet product demand
  • Create and maintain Disney clients and Supply Chain Partner Operating Guidelines, training and performance
  • In region ocean, air, road and freight forwarder service provider oversight, service availability and planning
  • Liaison with Distribution centre(s) planning functions for the efficient scheduling and movement of goods inbound
  • Purchase Order (PO)/ Product exception management with Planning team and Origin Logistics team
  • Coordination with destination Customs function to support an efficient hand over for the clearance of goods into market
  • Support business risk identification (direct or in the Logistics industry) and business continuity planning to mitigate disruption to the movement of goods
  • Maintain awareness of and excellent functional relationships with TDSE and external department leadership / stakeholders. Maintain networks within the industry to ensure relevant knowledge of the marketplace
Network Optimisation
  • Logistics network flow optimization – lane, hub and flow processes
  • Freight terms optimisation – support conversions of Supplier managed freight to Disney managed freight
Logistics Management System (ORACLE)
  • Perform UAT for all system updates related to operations
  • Drive all shipments from Supplier cancel date, delivery compliance, consolidation, to distribution centre appointments utilizing system to accomplish consistent process and visibility
  • Validate system data and perform root cause analysis on erroneous data
  • Work with system team to correct sources of erroneous data
  • User training
Supply Chain Partner Contracting
  • EMEA regional representation and contracting in partnership with logistics leadership on aspects of supply chain partner contract negotiation:
    • In region bidder meetings, service needs
    • Provide information for RFP strategy document
    • Provide strategy revisions based on operational challenges throughout the year
    • Validate that final terms will support operational needs
    • Ownership of regional freight budget P&L
Supply Chain Partner Performance
  • Conduct quarterly dashboards/KPI session with providers, continuous improvement process and corrective action plans
  • Suggest edits to performance dashboards and metrics standards from RFP results
  • Analyse and validate quarterly dashboard results and coordinate adjustments
Disney Internal Clients Relationship Management
  • Conduct quarterly dashboards/KPI session with providers, continuous improvement process and corrective action plans
  • Analyse and validate quarterly dashboard results and coordinate adjustments
  • Inbound reporting – status of orders to merchants, planning and distribution centers
  • Logistics models for our Clients as needed (e.g. estimated landed cost estimates/actual, cycle time, alternative transit costs, etc.)
Logistics Budgets, cause of change and five year planning
  • Identify spend variance reasons and strategize solutions
  • Manage all contract negotiation spend impacts and reporting
Logistics Projects
  • Manage projects as identified that drive improvements in service, cost, labour, systems use or other areas as deemed necessary
Process Improvement
  • Evaluate existing processes for improvement potential
  • Process mapping
  • User needs assessment
  • System capability assessment
  • Develop project plan and timeline
  • Execute project plan
  • Write ad-hoc SQL reports

Basic Qualifications:

Experience Required
  • Degree-level education in a related field such as Supply Chain, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in supply chain role, managing daily logistics operations for multinational organisation
  • Working knowledge of Tableau, SQL and Oracle OTM or equivalent TMS
  • Working knowledge of Import transportation execution
  • Proven experience of working with US, EU and far Eastern operators
  • Proven experience of building effective relationships and managing stakeholders within a large, multi-national, matrix organisation

  • Strong written and spoken English for business use, essential
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of global markets
