The Loss Prevention Cast Member reports to the Store Management team and the Senior Loss Prevention Cast Member and shows the following attributes:

Overview

The Loss Prevention Cast Member is part of the management team, and supports the store management team to drive the store’s performance especially in relation to Shrinkage. The Loss Prevention Cast Member represents the Disney brand, and ensures that Guests have magical experiences throughout the Store in a safe and secure environment. Their standards are consistently high and they set the example for the delivery of exceptional Loss Prevention standards. They are a mentor and a role model for Cast Members in relation to Loss Prevention and work with the rest of the management team to create a high energy work environment, to drive the company’s initiatives and to achieve its goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Show

Results

  • Maintains high visibility on Stage and monitors ‘Hot Spot’ areas which have a history of theft

  • Monitor entry/exit points, patrolling the store, acting as a deterrent, whilst alert to any threat o Guest, Cast Members or store.

  • Radios, CCTV and EAS equipment used appropriately and daily checks are actioned to ensure good working order is maintained at all times.

  • Bags, Pockets and lockers searched without prejudice in a professional manner with Cast member’s knowledge to meet TDS SOP.

  • All staff and visitors searches recorded and signed off by all parties in line with TDS SOP.

  • Actions daily perimeter checks of the store to identify any potential security risks.

  • Identifies any issues ensuring a safe working environment to prevent injury to self, colleagues and  Guests throughout all areas of the store.

  • Monitors  Fire exits and corridors to ensure these are kept clear at all times.

  • Evacuation and blackout procedures initiated; regular tests completed and documented with store manager.

  • Attends court on behalf of the company as required.

  • Achieves shrinkage financial goals, as agreed, through appropriate actions, controls and use of Guest service behaviours.

  • The store is at all times a safe and secure environment for Guests, Cast Members and visitors

  • Cash variances are reduced and the opportunity for fraud or theft mitigated

  • Monitors weekly store shrinkage performance and inventory adjustments (MOS) to highlight areas of loss and propose remedial action. Cycle Counts are completed accurately and inventory integrity maintained.

  • liaises with local police/town link schemes to ensure a good working relationship is maintained at all times.

  • Any communication with both Police and enforcement agencies is carried out in an effective and professional manner on behalf of the Disney brand

Support

Contribution

  • Visitors book completed and badges worn by all visitors in line with TDS SOP

  • Operates in a diplomatic and tactful manner when dealing with incidents and ensure that at all times TDS Sop’s are followed

  • Liaises with Store Manager in the investigation of identified cash variances

  • Assists store team with daily till check procedure

  • Liaises with Store Manager to ensure that all MOS adjustments are appropriately investigated.

  • Assists store Cast in carrying out Cycle Counts accuracy checks as directed by the Inventory Management team.

  • To assist in ensuring that delivery/ collection manifests are checked and in order.

  • Monitors the issuing of locker keys and access fobs

  • Assists Store Manager with induction training of all new Cast Members in all areas relevant to Loss Prevention.

  • Delivers targeted training and coaching sessions with Cast Members to raise awareness and tackle the root causes of shrinkage within the store

  • Delivers awareness of “Hot Spots” for theft training within the store and monitors any changes to the layout that may affect these.

  • Ensures that all Cast Members are aware of the correct and safe usage of relevant security equipment.

  • Calls police in line with TDS SOP procedures or as advised by Loss Prevention Representative/Store Manager.

  • Accurate and legible reports are recorded on the intranet Loss Prevention Field Report function

  • Complete police witness statements and internal company documents ensuring they are accurate, legible and filed appropriately. Relevant in-store filing systems are clear and accessible at all times.

  • Communicates to Manager, Cast Members and Guests clearly and with confidence.

  • Communicates regularly with Loss Prevention Representative.

  • Leads by example in relation to grooming guidelines Asks for help, advice and procedural clarification when required

  • Reviews TDS Loss Prevention SOP’s and makes recommendations for improvements to Loss Prevention Department

  • Any relevant issues are communicated to manager without prejudice.

Relevant Experience / Requirements

  • At least one year’s Loss Prevention/security experience within a retail environment preferred but not essential.

  • Experience of training personnel in security and Loss Prevention processes

  • Has a thorough understanding of security procedures, regulations and practices.

  • Demonstrates drive and commitment to achieve standards.

  • Demonstrates a high standard of Guest service and enjoys Guest interaction.

  • Has an understanding of basic Health and Safety practices and procedures

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Is able to work without supervision

  • Ability to operate in a methodical, pragmatic manner.

  • Ability to be able to work to support and develop the role within the Loss Prevention strategy and improve shrinkage results for TDSE.

Additional responsibilities and duties will be assigned based on the needs of the business
