Job Summary

The role of the Category Sourcing Manager is to design and execute (or coordinate execution) of the Media localization & servicing sourcing strategy for EMEA. It is the individuals responsibility to design, propose, discuss and align the Category strategy in partnership with the corresponding Sourcing/ Business/ Finance Leaders and the Global Category Leads. She/he is the company’s expert in the Category, and is responsible to continue to stay up to date with best practices and category knowledge, and educating the stakeholder and sourcing teams. This role has direct Sourcing responsibility for the EMEA spend and will work in close partnership with the Territory Managers to understand local specificities and deploy the set strategy. The Sourcing Category includes spend related to Technology, Broadcasting Operations and Production.


  • The individual is the Category Expert for Media localization & servicing Spend in the EMEA Region, and as such is responsible for developing and delivering the category strategy through Strategic Category Plans for the EMEA Region, supporting the Company’s strategic plans. The Category strategy will include financial, risk management, corporate governance and GSE considerations. This includes product and service quality, savings, standards and policies, protection of IP and data, as well as Supplier Diversity, environmental considerations, labour standards, etc…
  • It is the responsibility of the Category Manager to ensure the relevant regional and local business, finance and sourcing stakeholders are considered and provide LOB / Country input into the strategy. Therefore, it is essential that the Category Manager builds and maintains an extensive senior executive level internal network, as well as a solid external market network. Both internal and external relationships are critical for informed, innovative/ best in class Category Plans and Roadmaps, aligned with the company’s long-term goals. This includes the Sourcing Territory Managers, who are a key Partner to the Category Teams.
  • The individual is responsible for delivering the long-term values and the shorter-term P&L impact set forth in the Category Plan, 5Y Strat plan and Category AOP, in co-responsibility with the Country Sourcing heads of each country. Therefore she/he will provide guidance to the local sourcing teams working on category related projects, provide a country view of the Category AOP, facilitate relationship with regional finance (sign offs, validation, support).
  • Although the Category Manager will have autonomy within EMEA they will need to work closely with the global category leads to ensure consistency with the global strategy, and that global opportunities are leveraged.
  • In their condition as Category Expert, the Category Manager is responsible to centralise, maintain and grow the Category knowledge. They are a provider for Category knowledge, market insights, practices and strategies to the Territory Sourcing Managers and the rest of the Company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience as Category Manager specifically managing a wide scope of Broadcast, Media and Technology Sub Categories in a multinational & multi LOB environment.
  • Proven experience in building x-company, x-regional Category Strategies and Implementation
  • Experience in partnering with Sr. Executive Stakeholders
  • Experience in Media, Entertainment
  • Experience in managing/ collaborating with a virtual multicultural team
  • Willingness to travel (position may require up to 10% travel)
