An exciting time to join our Consumer Products PR team in a newly created position.
Reporting into our PR Managers, the PR Supervisor will be critical in managing all day to day press office activities to help generate coverage around our consumer product business and franchises including Star Wars, Frozen, Disney Princess, Marvel, Mickey & Friends and more.
With a passion for the media and a flair for publicity, the Supervisor will continually work to identify new opportunities to drive coverage, building their network of contacts across the media and influencer landscape.
The PR Supervisor will also play an integral role in both supporting and implementing exciting PR campaigns helping to drive awareness of Disney’s products at both third party and owned and operated retail.
Draft press materials including press releases, pitch letters, media alerts, fact sheets, executive talking points and route to internal stakeholders for approval
Manage master media list and update frequently with new contacts
Proactively develop relationships and engage with media contacts, providing background information and/or pitching product
Maintain list of Disney centric fans/social media influencers to seed product with as needed
Oversee the management of vendors, including mailing house and media database services
Track campaign results and develop comprehensive reports to communicate results for executive team and key stakeholders
Conduct regular meetings with key licensees and retailers to ensure alignment on upcoming projects
Participate in meetings, presentations and brainstorming sessions, cultivating creative ideas and developing strategic PR opportunities
Support on bigger PR campaigns for priority franchises
Track competitor coverage and flag any industry news or issues
Alongside PR Managers:
Help develop and manage strategic PR activities such as product launches, press events, trade shows, media tours, campaign planning, and blogger/social influencers programs
Pitch larger product round-up and trend stories to trade and consumer outlets
Partner closely with other key stakeholders and Disney consumer products teams to brainstorm program ideas, including global angles, content and buzz-worthy social media opportunities
Liaise with other Disney business units, for example Walt Disney Studios, Parks & Resorts or Disney Channels, to deliver on synergy PR opportunities
- A proven track record of working in a busy press office
- A finger on the pulse of the industry and media landscape and be able to identify strategic PR and event opportunities for our franchises
- The ability to manage multiple projects across a variety of franchises/brands at a time; resourceful
- Previous PR/communications experience either with agencies or in-house
- Passionate about retail communications from fashion to toys and publishing
- Knowledge of retail industry and ability to flag any major industry news
