Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEET) brings together the best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams to drive the global operations for the Company’s content engines. DEET manages the P&L, distribution, network, engineering operations, sales, advertising, and key technology functions for Disney’s streaming services, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+ HotStar, as well as domestic broadcast and cable television networks.
Within DEET, DEET plays a pivotal role in developing products, platforms, and innovations, leveraging technology to drive business performance and enhance consumer engagement. The Senior Manager, Media Applications, will be an integral part of the team, collaborating with product managers and stakeholders to manage business products and systems across the Walt Disney Company and its international territories. This role involves driving the strategic direction of media applications, supporting key business objectives, and leading the execution of strategic initiatives within the product team.
What You Will Do
As the Senior Manager, Media Applications, you will play a key role in shaping the future of media applications for DEET. Your primary responsibilities will include working with cross-functional teams to develop the product vision, define objectives, and ensure timely execution of product initiatives.
Collaborate with the Product Team to define the product vision and roadmap, aligning with key business KPIs.
Lead the team in developing and refining epics, user stories, and tasks to capture business requirements and technical specifications.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, ensuring product specifications meet business needs and operational requirements.
Manage and drive product changes, working with internal teams and stakeholders to implement effective solutions.
Create clear and accurate documentation to facilitate training, knowledge transfer, and project reference.
Work closely with vendors to ensure service-level agreements are met and that project milestones are successfully achieved.
Oversee the communication of project status and progress to business and technology stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader business strategies.
Provide leadership to the Product Management team and cross-functional partners to drive business decisions and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Prior Experience: Significant experience in Product Management or a related field, including managing complex media systems and platforms.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, driving alignment on business goals and objectives.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.
Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate business needs and make strategic decisions that align with organizational goals.
Team Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring a team of product managers and cross-functional teams.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical and business challenges.
Change Management: Ability to lead and manage change in a fast-paced environment while ensuring stakeholder buy-in and engagement.
Vendor Management: Experience working with third-party vendors to ensure product and service excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
A strong understanding of media and digital workflows.
Experience with agile methodologies for software and service delivery.
Familiarity with data structures and relationships within media-related software systems.
Additional Information
This role may require occasional travel to various international locations for project collaboration and business needs.
Flexibility in work hours may be necessary to meet the needs of a global team.
