The individual will be part of Disney’s International Sourcing and Procurement division, which is responsible for Procurement activities outside of domestic US (mainly Europe).

The individual will be involved in sourcing initiatives with a specific focus on the broadcast, media and technology (BMT) spend areas across EMEA.

The Sourcing Specialist will be part of a team responsible for sourcing and procurement activities, with a focus on stakeholder management, category management, and technical solutions.

The Sourcing Specialist will execute sourcing initiatives, including market assessments, RFP development, bid strategies, supplier negotiation and contract development for assigned commodity groupings.

The Sourcing Specialist will conduct demand management analysis, supplier performance analysis and will be responsible for identifying and capturing cost savings.

The Sourcing Specialist will be expected to contribute to the BMT category plan and to lead development of sub-category plans for assigned commodity groupings.

Responsibilities:

The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
  • Perform external market research and supplier pre-qualification activities
  • Manage the collection of user requirements across all business units
  • Perform supplier selection activities in partnership with appropriate Business Unit and other procurement constituents
  • Prepare and execute clear, structured negotiations
  • Contribute to delivery of individual and category cost savings targets
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends and conditions in the broadcast, media and technology space and understand how these affect suppliers, cost of goods/services, pricing, and the resulting impact to stakeholders
  • Use market knowledge and data analysis to identify savings opportunities and contribute to a future pipeline of opportunities that meet category specific targets
  • Utilize commodity specialists within the Business Units and elsewhere within sourcing for market knowledge and product expertise
  • Interact with and influence stakeholders across the business
  • Provide support to other territories as needed
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and best practices
  • Participate in professional development activities to keep abreast of current industry best practices and continuously improve professional skills and technical expertise

Basic Qualifications:

The Experience We Require From You:
  • Experience within IT category and a willingness to develop knowledge in other areas
  • Experience in one or more of the core categories of spend, broadcast, production, post-production or digital distribution desired but not essential
  • Experience developing and implementing sourcing strategies and leading supplier negotiations
  • Ability to identify/solicit key stakeholder needs and develop solutions to address their needs
  • Ability to effectively communicate strategic value of sourcing to key stakeholders across multiple BUs
  • Excellent facilitation and project management skills and the ability to manage a range of sometimes competing stakeholder interests and expectations
  • Ability to analyse complex data and use this to develop sourcing opportunities
  • Ability to apply market knowledge to sourcing projects to create extra value for stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices and sourcing/supply chain trends and dynamics
  • Good understanding of Technology & Finance would be useful, but not essential.
  • Good understanding of legal aspects related to procurement contracts.
  • Ability to work with and influence stakeholders across Lines of Business and multiple markets
  • Professional certification – completed or in process of studying for Chartered Institute of Purchasing qualification, desired but not essential
  • Knowledge of some of the strategic challenges facing the media and entertainment sector is desirable.
