FX Networks, National Geographic Channels, HULU Original Programming

In this role, you will serve as the Executive Assistant for the Standards and Practices (S&P) Vice-President and provide administrative support to the Standards and Practices department which reviews programming content for FX Networks, National Geographic Channels, Disney+ and HULU under Walt Disney General Entertainment.

This position requires a combination of multiple key skills.  Not only would you be supporting the Vice-President with traditional administrative functions such as calendar scheduling, expense reports, etc., you would also serve as lead for many general office functions, including database management, systems governance, staff support, and other projects that arise on a day-to-day basis.  Dealing with three different business at once can be a challenge, so this role requires an individual who is highly organized, exhibits excellent judgment, is proactive, and is able to work with a high level of detail.  Solid time management and multi-tasking skills are essential.  Just as important is the ability keep a cool head in a potentially high stress environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to interface effectively with staff and communicate the needs of the department and the Company to outside parties.  As the face of your executive within The Walt Disney Company, your professionalism, loyalty and attitude are a reflection of the office, and as such, are a critical component to its success.  A high degree of confidentiality and discretion are expected in regard to all matters and documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones, file expense reports, coordinate schedules, and perform other assigned administrative tasks.
  • Assist the overall department with needs such as office supply orders, visitor access, parking, and other tasks upon request.
  • Maintain and update all show assignments and V-Chip ratings in VPS for National Geographic Channel from executive emails on a consistent basis.
  • Maintain and update the V-Chip ratings logs for all FX Net programming on a consistent basis.
  • Pull reports as necessary to keep the team informed on programming that is going into the final stage of production.
  • Research specific program information on request. Cross references VPS weekly report with department data for accuracy.
  • Receive, catalog and distribute materials for FX Movies.
  • Communicate regularly with Acquisitions and FX Post Production regarding material.
  • Coordinates upload and delivery of materials for team members as requested. 
  • Elevate larger issues to S&P senior executives.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with all parties involved in creating and producing programming that is network acceptable.
  • Based on the needs of the department you may also be assigned duties and specialized projects not listed above.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years with relevant executive assistant experience is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. 
  • Experience within a corporate environment is strongly preferred. 
  • Computer proficiency required, including experience in PC environment and Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • The nature of the work performed may require discussion of sensitive subjects including foul language, sexual scenes, etc. that appears in advertisements and programming submitted for review.

Education:

  • A high school degree or equivalent is required
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred

Additional Information:

  • The internal title for this role is Secretary IV.
