JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly review of film revenue and expense ultimates and make recommendations for revisions
  • Submit monthly ultimates changes to Studio Finance and update internal systems
  • Perform monthly ultimates variance reports, assess and research changes, and distribute to Searchlight Chairmen and other senior staff
  • Review and recommend marketing and distribution expenses for greenlight analysis
  • Project box office and ultimate film profitability based on opening and subsequent weekend box office results
  • Ad hoc research and analysis projects for Chairmen and senior staff
  • Prepare annual budget presentation materials
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of talent/staff airfare and lodging
  • Create and maintain cost schedules for film festivals and non-profit/charitable sponsorships – perform cost analysis as requested
  • Work with internal/external accounts payable teams and Searchlight staff to facilitate rush invoice payment requests, and investigate issues with invoice payments
  • Provide assistance to Searchlight staff for operational issues, including: onboarding new hires with financial systems access, cell phone accounts, corporate credit cards and travel profiles
  • Provide support for Finance team, including: minimal scheduling of meetings, setting up video conference calls with NY office, liaising with IT to solve computer, printer, and copier issues, and working with Facilities to handle building-related problems
  • Review/audit expense reports for all Searchlight departments, including: Marketing, Distribution, Production, Acquisitions, International, and Business Affairs

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). SAP knowledge a plus
  • Ability to keep information in the strictest of confidence
  • Ability to be proactive, resourceful, diplomatic, and flexible
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • BA/BS required, preferred in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Film related major
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, make preliminary decisions and change course of action quickly
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure and maintain professionalism and service orientation while working with Searchlight executives and staff
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, keeping manager informed on completed tasks and status of current tasks at hand
  • Ability to resolve routine issues and raise complex issues to supervisor
  • Ability to build relationships, both internally and externally, and must be able to interact with all levels of management and be an integral team player
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimum supervision
  • Sincere interest in the film industry is important
