The 20th Television Finance and Planning team manages the overall planning and strategy for 20th Television. The finance team provides critical financial support and analytics to the 20th Television senior management team and DGE/DMED finance team as well as key business partners across the Walt Disney Company.  The finance team also supports the decision-making process by tracking, maintaining, forecasting corporate overhead and company-level financial data. 

Position Summary

The Manager, Finance & Planning will work closely with the VP of Finance Administration to help guide 20th Television executives by providing high-quality, accurate, and timely overhead financial information to support the forecasting, budgeting and long-range planning for 20th Television.  In addition, the Manager will assist to identify ways to drive organizational change and operate more efficiently, both in forecasting processes and systems.  The individual must be comfortable working with and presenting to both senior executives and the various stakeholders across the Walt Disney Company.  The candidate will also support special projects on an ad-hoc basis.  The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills as well as an acute attention to detail. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Overhead Forecasting & Planning:  Prepare forecasts, Annual Operating Plans for 20th Television Group.  Prepare cause of change (variance) analysis and other reports for consolidations team as well as upper management.

  • Plan and report 20th Television Group overhead costs via the Cognos system.

  • Prepare and maintain distribution costs ultimates: collaborate with the Publicity, Marketing and Research departments to establish Forecasts and Annual Operating Plans.

  • Preparation of quarterly close journal entries.

  • Support the preparation of presentations and ad hoc analysis for senior management.

  • Provide support to departments with SAP coding

  • Identify and recommend operating reporting improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.

    • Previous work experience in FP&A is preferred, experience within television or film FP&A is a plus.

    • Public accounting experience is a plus.

  • B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues.

  • Strong technical skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and SAP preferred. 

  • Intermediate to advanced excel modeling skills is a plus.  Experience with Cognos TM1 / Pax / Hyperion is a plus.

  • Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize and resolve an array of issues simultaneously.

  • Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
