A Day in the Life…

Interns will learn what goes into building a film campaign and work closely with the LA publicity teams responsible for promoting Searchlight Pictures films. They will research potential publicity opportunities relating to Searchlight's current and future projects and help to create and implement publicity campaigns for multiple films at a time. Interns are encouraged to attend select meetings, screenings, press days and help out at red carpet events. The internship should be viewed as a true learning experience and questions are always welcome! Interns will receive a broad range of experiences also working closely with the Searchlight Pictures EPK team, special events team and field / national publicity team.


  • Collecting and distributing daily press breaks (newspaper/magazine clippings/online mentions)
  • Managing department charts
  • Assisting publicists with research projects.

What you bring to the role…

  • Must be eager, ready to learn, and help out with any task.
  • Must be responsible, punctual, and possesses good communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Must possess an interest in film publicity.
  • Must be able to create and seek out projects when needed and be an overall self-starter who thinks 'out of the box' and
  • can multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge and interest in Searchlight Pictures

(Preferred Qualifications)

  • Prior internship experience in the film industry and/or public relations is also preferred.
  • Relevant coursework in PR and/or communications

Additional Information

Internship Eligibility:

  • All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • All students must be at least 18 years old
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
  • All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.

Program Dates

  • All candidates must be available from May/June – August/September
  • All candidates must be willing to work approximately 40 hours/week
