JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Work directly with Production Finance Execs to oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects, including, but not limited to the Searchlight Pictures and 20th Century Animation banners.
  • Ensure all show related information, including fiscal production slate, EFCs and tax incentive estimates, are accurately reported and maintained in the Production Finance reporting database.
  • Prepare production finance ‘Welcome Memos’ highlighting important studio policies/procedures and key contacts for each assigned project.
  • Review production budgets, cash flow, funding requests and weekly closing reports for completeness and accuracy; identify and escalate any anomalies to the Production Finance Executive.
  • Oversee early prep funding and vendor payments through the studio in advance of production bank account setup.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting of production EFCs, tax credits and cash flow for the Studio Controllership, FP&A and Deal Analysis groups.
  • Work with the Production Tax team on status of tax incentives, review tax incentive estimates and analyze changes for reasonableness.
  • Assist in management of slate co-financing deals, including preparing monthly co-financing forecasts, preparing/reviewing monthly true-up statements, preparing initial cost statements (including interest calculations), preparing overage calculations on Put/Protected Pictures for monthly distribution to TSG and Participations, reviewing monthly Participations Overage Interest calculations, and reviewing quarterly Exhibit and Production Benefit schedules.
  • Manage other third party co-financed/co-produced projects, including preparing forecast based contractual co-financing terms, preparing true-up statements or review true-up invoices from partner studios, reconciling funding to costs for third party produced projects, and following up with partner studio on receipt of tax credits and updated estimates/timing.
  • Perform on location production and participations audits as needed.
  • Prepare ad-hoc management reports and work on special projects as needed.
  • Oversee the production banking platform transition.
  • Work on SAP integration requests, including production entities and vendors listing.
  • Collaborate with Animation Production on the creation of SAP chart of accounts for animated streaming titles.
  • Track the transition of corporate entities and bank accounts to be managed in offline third party accounting systems.
  • Prepare/review quarterly inventory accruals for Studio Controllership.
  • Provide guidance to production accountants on new studio reporting requirements, including commitments and accruals.
  • Prepare forecast and tax schedules for Disney+ projects.

  • Minimum of 5 years of Finance or public accounting experience required, within the media sector, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and or/Finance, or equivalent work experience
  • Pursuing MBA a plus
  • Prefer 5 years of financial modeling and deal analysis experience
  • Excellent communication, team player
  • Experience in evaluating film finance deals preferred
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional facility with Microsoft Excel, a must
  • Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail, desire for accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts, think strategically, solve problems, and implement solutions.
  • Proficiency with Movie Magic Budgeting, SAP, GlobalVista/PSL3, Microsoft Office Suite and building presentation decks.
