Fox 21 Television Studios is a production unit housed within Fox Television Group devoted to making creatively ambitious scripted and unscripted series for all distribution platforms. Fox 21 Television Studios is responsible for the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning sensation from Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” (with FX Productions) as well as its follow-up “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” which also won the Emmy and Golden Globe for Outstanding Limited Series; the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning “Homeland,” starring Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin which enters its eighth and final season this year; ‘Fosse/Verdon’ from award-winning producers Thomas Kail, Steven Levenson, Joel Fields and Lin-Manuel Miranda and starring Oscar winner Sam Rockwell and Golden Globe winner Michelle Williams; the blockbuster “Sons of Anarchy” as well as its follow-up “Mayans M.C.” from co-creators Kurt Sutter and Elgin James; “Queen of the South,” executive produced by David T. Friendly; “Pose” from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Steven Canals, Janet Mock, Alexis Martin Woodall and Sherry Marsh; and the Emmy-nominated “Genius: Einstein” and its follow-up “Genius: Picasso.” Additional upcoming projects include “The Hot Zone” based on Richard Preston’s international best-seller for Nat Geo starring Emmy winner Juliana Margulies. JOB DESCRIPTION

Vice President, Business Affairs, Touchstone Television
 

TOUCHSTONE TELEVISION, A GLOBAL LEADER IN THE DEVELOPMENT, PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF ENTERTAINMENT CONTENT, SEEKS AN EXECUTIVE TO JOIN ITS BUSINESS AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT AS A VICE PRESIDENT. 

Primary Responsibilities:

•  Structuring, negotiating, documenting and managing of the studio’s transactions to engage above-the-line talent (writers, producers, directors and actors), acquire underlying rights, and license the studio’s content on all broadcast, basic and pay cable, and on-demand platforms. 

•  Interfacing with the distribution arms of Walt Disney Television in connection with the exploitation of studio content to ensure optimal windowing of studio content globally 

• Maintaining budgetary oversight of productions in partnership with Production and Finance executives to ensure that the creative vision for productions is accomplished within appropriate legal, financial and business guidelines.   

Basic Qualifications:

•  Must possess an ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment and have a commitment to learning and excellence.

•  Superior analytical and writing skills and ability, together with strong business and financial acumen.

•  Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects, with a keen attention to detail

•  Proven track record as a skilled negotiator and deal-maker.

•  Exceptional inter-personal communication skills.

•  Demonstrated track record of holding to the highest degree of honesty and integrity.

•  Minimum of 10 years’ overall work experience

  • CA bar membership
