Job Summary:

The Retail Plush Takeover Manager is a key position for the growth of the Plush business for the Mexican market. Will be responsible for:
  • Developing the vertically integrated Plush business in Mexico, under a mixed business strategy, including managing revenue via market pricing, sales, operating expenses, etc.
  • Managing key accounts, as well as the relationship with the distributor, by implementing strategies and leading the development and execution of local market plans.
  • It requires a strong knowledge of the toys industry, with focus on Plush.
  • Maintaining active participation in Global product lines and business reviews, providing key data/insights with specific needs of our market (Toy trends, exclusive programs, price points, competition matrix, etc.)
  • Working on specific market research and analysis within the Plush segment. Identify white spaces and business opportunities to grow our market share and reach financial targets.
  • Following up on forecast analysis. Pinpoint the differences, which require alignment between Disney, key accounts, and local distributor.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing and achieving the Plush Project budget, delivering forecasts, budget, and financial information as needed.
  • Developing long-term relationships with key accounts for the Plush category.
  • Creating and presenting regular line and performance reviews by accounts.
  • Providing the demand plan to the Toys LOB to determine a production plan, coordinating with the Global and Regional teams to ensure accurate go-to-market timing.
  • Expanding the plush business in the non-modern trade channel, coordinating with the Toys LOB.
  • Working on specific market research, obtaining retail and consumer insights, as well as business intelligence/analytics (e.g. Walmart’s Retail Link).
  • Developing & executing effective local market strategies and plans by account, building robust relationships with buyers to ensure brand engagement and improving sell-in.
  • Creating contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients.
  • Ensuring each partner has a full understanding of Disney’s standards, directions and strategies.
  • Collaborating with LOBs, and support teams (e.g. Finance, DASP, Marketing, Creative, Merchandising) teams to drive Disney synergy activities, relevant business objectives and cross LOB exhibitions.
  • Aligning with the Toys LOB strategies, conducting market analysis to follow and/or proactively meet relevant trends & regulations, monitor retail performance, and expand Disney’s share of Plush business.
  • Coordinating with the Toys LOB the category key drivers (e.g. franchise, product assortment, pricing) to be consistent with retail and market needs.
  • Becoming a key team player by liaising with Global stakeholders (e.g. FBM Team, Franchise, and Business Development.)
  • Executing the New Product launch calendar to ensure alignment with the Product Development team, ensuring operational procedures to reach market on time, and creating synergy in Modern and Traditional markets.
  • Recommending to the Toys LOB a discount strategy for wholesale and the distributor, as well as retailer margin requirements/mark-downs to have a consistent strategy across models.
  • Working with Marketing to define product assortment for the market and each partner (i.e. product line planning process.)
  • Conducting regular store checks, to ensure correct signage and product placement, as well as monitoring competitive activity.
  • Executing Retail Programs, ensuring the full planning process from on-time delivery to Trade Marketing implementations, caring the return on investments and optimizing the franchise and product image under company policies and strategies.
  • Working with the Merchandising agency to implement programs in the retail floor, providing insights and measuring share-of-shelf.
  • Developing and implementing strategic “tailor-made” plans throughout the year, introducing new plush programs in key seasons, and increasing Disney’s share of shelf at point of sales and e-commerce.

Basic Qualifications:

  • More than 5 years of experience in a similar role as Sales Manager (Preferred Industries: Licensing, Retail, Trade, and/or Commercialization).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication and Business related areas.
  • Advanced English is a must.
  • Key Competences: Outstanding selling skills, excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities, flexible and adaptable.
  • Experience in NPD reports is a plus. Experience in Toys or handling global brands (Preferable).
