Job Summary:

Director, Third-Party Commercialization develops business strategies for Fashion, Baby, Food and Health & Beauty categories and promotional licensing in Japan market, and grow the business to achieve the AOP (Annual Operation Plan), as well as builds a strong team and develop talents to enhance the organization capability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business strategies for Fashion, Baby, Food, Health & Beauty categories, and Promotional Licensing, in line with sales objectives for Third-Party Commercialization business (TPC) in Japan
  • Define new business opportunities and grow the TPC business in Japan
  • Achieve revenue target and sales objectives, with driving long-term strategic plan
  • Work closely with key licensees to set future strategies for the business growth including contract negotiation, product development, sales management, marketing & promotion, etc.
  • Analyse responsible categories, and develop strategies and tactics for the business growth
  • Proactively support licensees’ marketing initiatives, working closely with Marketing team, to engage Disney guests across channels and trades.
  • Understand consumer insights to improve franchise presence and drive merchandises with licensee plans and consumer engagement
  • Promote retail promotion initiatives to maximize sales opportunities of licensees’ products.
  • Work closely with other LOBs, Global and APAC partners to deliver common goals and objectives as well as maximize synergy effect of Disney properties
  • Explore new and white spaces to figure out business and organizational opportunities, don’t hesitate challenges
  • Manage licensees to provide accurate sales forecasts and revenue accruals
  • Work closely with Product Design team and APAC Creative team to develop best-in-class products.
  • Pursue operational excellence and improve the process focusing on STOP, START, CONTINUE approaches
  • Motivate the teams through establishment of clear and challenging strategies and objectives.
  • Engage team members to navigate them into the goals and objectives
  • Assess team members’ performance and coach them effectively to develop them as future leaders

Job Requirements:

  • 15+ years’ experience in sales and/or trade marketing in consumer related business
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills, with an ability to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, passion, and energy to lead the organization
  • Experience of managing complex teams in a global company with multiple reporting lines
  • Excellent business acumen combined with excellent judgment and the ability to identify optimal solutions with a creative and innovative approach.
  • Relevant commercial marketing, sales, licensing, or similar consumer targeted experience required
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate with both internal and external audiences at multiple levels (both in Japanese and in English)
  • Experience and understanding fashion, consumer goods industry is preferred
  • Business level Japanese and English in verbal and writing
