Job Summary:

Overall Purpose of the Role:
  • The individual will be part of Disney’s International Sourcing and Procurement division, which is responsible for Procurement activities outside of domestic US.
  • The individual will be involved in sourcing initiatives with a specific focus on Non-media Marketing spend areas across TWDC entities in India including Star India, Disney+ Hotstar, Disney India, National Geographic India and others
  • The Sourcing Specialist will be a primary interface with Business Unit operators to fulfil their Procurement needs. This individual will lead efforts to source and procure goods and services to support Company Marketing requirements. They will manage vendors with a focus on supply base, increasing spend with fewer vendors and optimizing the value to the end user
  • The Sourcing Specialist will help cross-functional teams responsible for developing and implementing Sourcing arrangements with preferred suppliers. They will source and negotiate supplier relationships for internal clients

Responsibilities:

Areas of Responsibility:
  • The individual will be involved in extensive procurement of goods and services in Marketing (excluding media buying) categories of spends for India businesses of Star and Disney India.
  • Evaluate project costs in the marketing domains of creative services, merchandising, marketing technology, events, consumer research, PR and other marketing activities
  • Work with the business partners to carve out most effective deal structures/vendor selections/rate cards and other terms to ensure sustainable and smooth project execution
  • Prepare and execute clear, structured negotiations with vendors on cost and other commercial terms following Strategic Sourcing process
  • Collaborate with Operations team, Legal team, Finance and tax team to ensure timely execution of agreements
  • Plan and execute activities to ensure prompt placement of orders for materials, supplies, equipment and services as required by LOB
  • Oversee vendor communications regarding payments, amendments, terminations, etc. and ensure prompt query addressal and escalations
  • Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and best practices
  • Be aware of market trends and conditions in the Marketing domain and understand how these affect suppliers, cost of goods/services, pricing, and the resulting impact to business
  • Provide rigorous cost and market analysis following models established by Sourcing focusing on total cost of ownership
  • Analyse spend data to arrive at actionable insights and drive category level sourcing strategies
  • Communicate and report to management the status of any critical purchases that could affect planning
  • Participate in professional development activities to keep abreast of current industry best practices and continuously improve professional skills and technical expertise
  • Provide support to other territories as needed
  • Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances
  • Interact with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Ensure compliance, cost savings and performance measures are established, tracked and achieved
  • Build/establish strategic relationships with key suppliers

Basic Qualifications:

Experience & Professional Qualification required:
  • Graduate/Post graduate degree, preferred in management
  • Relevant work experience of minimum 3 years in vendor or customer facing role involving interpersonal negotiations
  • Experience with a renowned company with strong record of procurement, world class procurement department is a plus
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Marketing categories required
  • Business acumen to think on sourcing strategies and implementation plan
  • Able to handle standalone project with minimum supervision
  • Experience operating as an internal business consultant
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Expertise in using MS Excel
