The Merchandise Specialist supports the Merchandise Planner in driving the business by assisting in the execution of quarterly/annual assortment strategies. The Merchandise Specialist supports all day-to-day activities of analyzing item/category/store performance to optimize in season opportunities and minimize liability. He/She identifies stock concerns and proactively communicates to the Planner. The Merchandise Specialist must exhibit strong analytical, organization, and prioritization skills, as well as proficiency in all systems and processes related to planning.
Areas of responsibility:
Assist Category Planners and Category Specialists by creating, updating and submitting the monthly Markdowns.
Creation and distribution of priorities to expedite warehouse receiving of purchase orders.
Provide data and generate update for the coding of the AAA/Show Sku items.
Review assortment grids to identify items with inventory in the warehouse without locations set up for replenishment.
Creation, distribution and review of weekly discontinued item lists at the Domestic and Coastal levels.
Identify delayed Purchase Orders.
Support the Category Planners and Category Specialists by creating the weekly warehouse to warehouse transfer requests.
Identify possible out of stock items and generated report with back fill strategies.
Support in additional future tasks selected for the role.
Basic Qualifications:Graduate in any discipline
Required Education2 - 5 years of work experience in retail operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- High level of attention to detail; proactive with strong follow through skills.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills & time management skills with ability to prioritize workload.
