Job Summary:

Overall Purpose of the Role :
The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Disney Financial Systems (DFS) Team whose responsibilities include providing ongoing process improvement, reporting, and tool support for Disney’s Worldwide Shared Service (DWSS) organization. Duties include leading accounting and technology-related project efforts to improve operational efficiency and enhance service delivery, as well as developing reporting that allows business groups to deliver value and efficiency in decision making. The team also partners with Business Stakeholders to improve operational efficiency, enhance service, and deliver value-add reporting for decision making.
The Analyst will be a part of a DFS team that provides analytical rigor in support of a variety of business units and Corporate teams across a wide broad array of initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a finance or accounting background, strong technical skills/affinities, experience with process improvement, and an ability to learn new systems/tools while functioning at the Enterprise, Segment or Business Unit level. This individual will provide support primarily leveraging their financial, technical, communication, and training and performance expertise. The role will work on ad-hoc projects as needed.

This position is primarily responsible for:
  1. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to identify operational issues and concerns, and develop organized change strategies that improve efficiency or enhance service delivery.
  2. Conduct data collection and verification required to measure performance measurements, including savings, spend, influence and other sourcing related measurements.
  3. Support the transition and on-going performance of client teams by developing and disseminating policy and procedure manuals, product catalogues, performance reports and marketing manuals.
  4. Assist in the facilitation of continuous improvement of DFS, DWSS and Corp FP&A processes.
  5. Participate in the development of long-term direction for the organization.
  6. Interpret historical data or perform process/gap analysis to evaluate problems and causes for which procedural or system changes are required.
  7. Use creativity and analytical thinking to evaluate solution alternatives, and develop recommendations.
  8. Perform system administration and configuration tasks for internally developed tools supporting a variety of general accounting functions. Configure, monitor and trouble-shoot data extract, transform, and load (ETL) tasks for internally-developed tools.
  9. Receive Robotics Process Automation (RPA) training to assist in Robotic Centre of Excellence efforts; including support and development.
  10. Assist the Domestic US team with troubleshooting issues, maintaining databases and enhancing operational reports to achieve ongoing process improvement goals.
Design, configure and test technical solutions in accordance with delivery methodology, security policies and business requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience and Professional Qualifications Required :
  1. 2-3 years’ experience in financial planning, management consulting, auditing and/or corporate finance environment
  2. Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  3. Excel, Word, SAP experience required
  4. Experience in programming language (including scripting/Coding) and/or SQL is preferred
