Job Summary:

Disney Theatrical Group is seeking a detail oriented, self-motivated and personable Assistant Retail Operations Manager within our Merchandise Department servicing our three Domestic Tours- The Lion King, Frozen and Aladdin. This role will report into our Senior Retail Tour Manager. This role will be responsible for all the retail operations advancement in upcoming markets. They will oversee theater introductions & retail terms with each venue prior to engagement, manage all temp sales staff recruitment & payroll processing and armored car administration.

In addition to the above operational responsibilities, this role will be expected to travel among the three tours up to 75% of the year as additional retail management support in high volume sales markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Initial contact to all tour venues along the route to send merchandise terms & conditions form for signature.
  • Set up each venue as a vendor within Disney’s system for merchandise commission payments.
  • Work with Temp Agencies to recruit sales candidates in each market. Set up and conduct interviews with candidates, then identify staff’s availability to ensure a full schedule for each tour based on performance schedule. Partner with agency so all background checks are completed prior to engagement.
  • Process temp sales staff payroll weekly for all tours.
  • Partner with Armored Car Agency to set up vaults and pick up schedule in each tour market. Point person for all escalation issues.
  • Travel to designated tour markets and perform retail management responsibilities on and off the sales floor as additional coverage. This includes but not limited to: managing temp staff on the sales floor; troubleshooting POS system; restocking kiosks; pulling inventory from the stockroom and 52’trailers on the dock; processing weekly product deliveries from the warehouse; loading all kiosks, supplies and product in and out of each market; sales reporting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years in supervisor and/or management position within a retail/sales environment.
  • Experience working with guests to create positive interactions.
  • Experience cash handling and a till system.
  • Capability to multi task several projects simultaneously while having an acute attention to detail and ability to track results and status.
  • Written communication skills to achieve results through follow up, compromise and negotiation when necessary.
  • Confidence and Ability to make decisions within limits of the role.
  • Practice with working with third parties to achieve operational best practices.
  • Ability to lift boxes up to 65lbs daily on a consistent basis when traveling with retail tour teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Experience interviewing and hiring staff for guest facing roles.
  • Involvement in payroll processing and creating staff hourly schedules.
