Job Summary:

This position is responsible for coordinating licensing approvals for adult prose fiction and nonfiction. The employee also will be responsible for editorial functions related to the Marvel Studios art books. The ability to multitask as well as a strong editing and project-management background is required, as is a knowledge of Marvel comic books and films.


  • Lead or backup approver on licensed adult prose fiction and nonfiction including novels, serialized content, audio adaptations, reference books and partworks
    • Coordinate communications between Marvel and licensees
    • Provide critical feedback on outlines, manuscripts, layouts and other process materials
    • Route submissions to other Marvel reviewers as needed
  • Project manager on cinematic art books
    • Coordinate communications between various stakeholders
    • Create book outlines
    • Set and enforce project milestones
    • Work with designers/packagers to download and organize assets
    • Day-to-day contact for designers/packagers
    • Review manuscripts
    • Route text and layouts for approval
    • Send final files to press

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong editorial background
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to efficiently manage processes and resources
  • Knowledge of Marvel Comics and its characters

Required Education

BA / BS Degree or relevant work experience.
