The Coordinator, Development will be responsible for administrative, coordination and program development duties for development team based in New York, New York. Overall responsibilities include providing administrative support, maintaining and updating production status information and databases, responding to blind pitch submissions, industry event and conference coordination and material creation, IT troubleshooting, travel and expenses, travel and accommodation booking, and departmental administrative tasks as needed.


  • Coordinate all New York office development team internal and external department meetings, update and maintain show status information and staff assignments in databases and department files.  Generate and distribute PNFs, RFNs and NMFs.  Serve as interface with other NGC coordinators and administrative assistants. based in Washington, DC, LA and London offices, and also with colleagues at NGS and other NGP departments.  Coordinate department office activities (e.g., office moves, furniture requests, IT troubleshooting, computer folder access, etc.). Manage visitor entry and egress process. Help mentor department interns.
  • Perform Coordinator duties to efficiently streamline and improve the development pipeline from pitch to premiere.  Assist with developing ideas, including reviewing scripts and pitches, and by creating compelling pitch materials through editing software and powerpoint and other presentation-creation software.  Create files and organizational tools for tracking contacts and information related to each program. Provide editorial research as requested.    
  • Serve as lead facilitator for NYC development department meetings, both internally and with outside production companies. Help them into the office and depart smoothly. Organize and distribute agendas and reports for these meetings. Work with Washington, DC, LA and London offices for set up and to ensure everything runs smoothly. Liaise with other departments and production companies to make sure they have the materials they need to support our programs.  
  • Assist at on-site meetings and conferences, including the scheduling of meetings and facilities, ensuring visitors experience a smooth process to meeting locations, troubleshooting on location, etc., on an as needed basis.
  • Additional skills that benefit the team and the department: proficient in Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Lotus Notes, and Outlook, etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills and professional demeanor. Incredibly task and deadline oriented and able to juggle multiple pressing assignments simultaneously.  Knowledge of production and post production process, and able to make editorial suggestions that improve quality of programming. Creative, unflappable under pressure, and has a “whatever it takes” attitude. 


  • B.A. or B.S. At least one year of experience in a TV environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be able to articulate ideas and recommendations clearly.
  • Must be proactive and confident speaking in front of others.
  • Must be able to compose detailed research and written suggestions and outlines for ideas and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, team work, and ability to take initiative. Must have a strong organizational mind.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Explorer are needed. Knowledgeable on Final Cut Pro. 
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective business relationships.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • The ability to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities and daily time constraints is required. 
  • Must be pro-active and an avid consumer of media, both on cable and streaming platforms.
