About the Team:

The Critical Facilities organization provides physically secure, environmentally stable, high availability data center services. In conjunction with the rest of End User and Technical Operations the organization delivers managed facility, server, storage, authentication, and DNS services to Enterprise Technology clients. The Critical Facilities team plays a dual role, managing the data center physical environment, its assets and providing break/fix support as directed by the Platform and or Network Operations team.

The Position:

The Data Center Site Manager will be the primary contact and is accountable for all data center services provided by Critical Facilities for the New York and New Jersey locations. This role will manage, directly perform or act as the liaison to the appropriate teams to deliver all Critical Facilities Services; vendor management, mechanical, electrical, plumping (MEP) and fire-life-safety (FLS), physical security, Facilities Operations and Service Delivery (FOSD), logistics (shipping, receiving & storage), eWaste, media destruction and data center design consultation.

This position is responsible for understanding and authorizing all maintenance and service activities to all Data Center infrastructure components, including enforcement of company guidelines for worker safety. The position is responsible for consistent availability of all hosted IT devices by enforcing standard installation protocols for redundancy and diversity of power, cooling and network. The position must possess and maintain strong business and financial acumen, as this position is accountable for all aspects of budgets, forecasts, accruals and 10 Year Plans.

What You Will Do:

The Data Center Site Manager will work with the Critical Facilities staff, clients, peer teams and work on independent projects as assigned. Responsibilities include:

  • Support to the Enterprise Technology Customer Base and to Enterprise Technology team members

  • Vendor & contract management (Colocation provider services & service providers)

  • Financial Management – Annual Operating Plan (budget), requests for proposals, quotes, purchase orders, invoicing, accruals and forecasts

  • Perform monitoring, auditing & reporting

  • Documentation management – creation, maintenance and retirement of Policies, Procedures, Processes, tool data

  • Manage and perform 24x7x365 FOSD Services (Infrastructure and IT Equipment installations, changes, decommissions, repairs and incident support)

  • Logistics management (shipping, receiving and storage)

  • Provide on-call support and 1-hour on-site response for incidents or support issues

  • Troubleshoot, document and process technical issues using the Enterprise Technology ticketing system

Must Have:

  • A minimum of 5 years data center support; knowledge & practical experience in data center infrastructure systems including power, cooling, fire suppression, physical security, cabling, infrastructure and IT equipment installation and environmental monitoring

  • Data Center Infrastructure Management tools, IT equipment installation, general application and system support

  • Must be willing to work on weekends and holidays

Nice to Have:

  • 10+ years data center support

  • Expert knowledge & practical experience in data center infrastructure systems including power, cooling, fire suppression, physical security, cabling, infrastructure and IT equipment installation and environmental monitoring

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience

  • Master’s Degree preferred

The hiring range for this position in New York is $129,806 to $174,130 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation

package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
