This position is responsible for creating and delivering print-ready files for publication. The employee will also be responsible for cover and logo design and compositing comic books. This position services various departments throughout the company including Editorial and Marketing. The ability to multi-task as well as a strong background in design is required. Knowledge of the Marvel characters and comic books is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Mock-up and composite of covers for comic books
- Logo design
- Design of Editorial pages (credits page, etc.)
- Scanning and manipulating Photoshop art files to conform to print specifications
- Compositing interior pages for comic books
- Generating print-ready PDF files
Qualifications
- Strong communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and multitask to complete various time-sensitive projects
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Creativity and design experience
The hiring range for this position in New York is $40,000 to $60,000 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
