ABC News is responsible for all of the ABC Television Network’s news programming, including “World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Nightline,” “Good Morning America,” “GMA3,” “20/20,” “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” ABC News Live, ABC News Radio, ABCNews.com, and satellite service NewsOne. The News division also creates content for various streaming partners like Disney + and Hulu. These award-winning teams provide the latest information and analysis of major events to bring viewers a better understanding of the world.
ABCNEWS has an opening for a Digital Video Editor for its top-rated news programs focusing on overnight and early morning platforms. Candidates must have minimum 5 years’ experience in broadcast news. Proficiency in Avid editing platform is required. Knowledge of Avid Interplay is required, as is knowledge of end to end digital workflows. Candidates with skill and experience with Boris Red/Avid FX, Sapphire, and/or Adobe After Effects will be strongly considered.
Candidate must have strong organizational skills, be able to meet deadlines, and work well under pressure. Person will have editorial responsibility over some segments. Person must demonstrate editorial judgment. The role requires the ability to edit packages from script to completion with as part of a team or as an independently. Role may also include editing voice overs and re-editing previously aired and edited packages.
This role is a hybrid staff position. The shift is subject to change. Rate is commensurate with experience.
- Duties will focus on, but will not be limited to Hard News segment editing.
- Minimum 5 years working in Broadcast News
- Must be an expert in Avid Media Composer and experience with Avid Interplay.
- Experience with third party effects a must; Sapphire, BCC.
- Must be available to work flexible hours and weekends and perform duties under deadline.
- Non-Technical Skills: Strong organizational skills, able to meet deadlines, attention to detail, work well under pressure.
- Work well with a team and independently.
- BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
The hiring range for this position in New York is $75,200 - $103,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
