- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

Reporting to and supporting the SVP, Services and Data Engineering, the Chief of Staff / Director Strategic Operations is a highly influential and visible role combining strategic planning, program management, administrative support and process improvement across a fast-moving and mission critical technology business.

This role will have oversight responsibilities for strategic & cross organization program building and tracking, Objective & Key Result (OKR) programming for Services & Data Engineering, department communications & logistics, and working with our HR team to implement department personnel growth planning activities. In addition, the Director, Strategic Operations role plays a significant part in helping drive investment in Diversity and Inclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with department VPs throughout the Services & Data organization to craft and execute a strategic vision for enabling organizational program efficiency
  • Work with individuals and teams across Disney Streaming to identify opportunities to improve culture and retention; define and drive initiatives to that end
  • Lead the Objective & Key Results process to drive alignment across a team of ~500 and in 7 different offices worldwide
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Public Relations to ensure consistent & coherent hiring, growth, and communication strategy for the Services & Data Engineering organization
  • Working closely with Finance to align org-wide labor capitalization( $<90>MM annual), total cost of ownership initiatives(TCO) and consulting budgeting ($6MM annual RR) function and third party vendor agreement lifecycle, working closely with Finance & Budgeting
  • Direct cross-functional teams and facilitate efforts to execute against business objectives (OKR), streamline processes, identify, qualify and present strategic issues to SVP and executive team
  • Provide strategic support to the SVP, SDE including project planning and management, coordinating initiatives and special projects, and fiscal management
  • Develop presentations from conceptual information to completion as well as competitive / image analysis of other companies in our industry
  • Manage Technology All Hand meetings; develop agenda and presentations, speakers, vendor etc.; create business communication cadence
  • Facilitate key technical initiatives, including organizing communication strategies for key projects

  • Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, thought leadership, flexibility, and the ability to handle the uncertainties associated with a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record in leading cross functional teams to deliver complex initiatives
  • Able to see the big picture, form strategy, and start / lead organizational initiatives with influence to completion
  • Proven ability to consistently provide actionable insight to stakeholders
  • Experience working with senior executives - polished presence
  • Superior communication skills - written and oral
  • Excellent delivery skills to support driving cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong business acumen, financial skills, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with multiple departments while maintaining tact and diplomacy
  • Ability and willingness to problem solve, prioritize, negotiate and juggle changing deadlines
