Responsibilities:This GMA Producer position is responsible for creating all types of content, with a primary focus on the production of Taped Pieces. Candidates for this position must be highly experienced at Crash Producing, Field Producing, and Edit Producing every type of taped piece – from hard news to entertaining features. Producers must be highly experienced Taped Piece writers, capable of scripting quickly in high-pressure situations – and are called upon to take the lead on every aspect of Taped Piece production from First Pitch to Research to Booking to Shooting to Scripting to Final Edit. Producers will also be called upon to create and produce complicated live and taped events both in the field and the studio. All assignments require quick turnarounds, so a crash-producing background is essential. This position’s schedule and hours will be set based on show need, but will most likely involve a 6pm Shift Tuesday-Saturday nights.
- Candidates must be exceptional writers.
- Candidates must be exceptional shooters.
- Candidates must be highly proficient editors.
- Candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience in a news environment.
- Candidates must have 4 years crash-producing edit-room experience.
- Candidates must have substantial field-producing experience.
- Candidates must have previous live-producing experience.
- Strong research and organizational skills are a must with ability to work under extreme deadlines.
- Highly skilled DV shooting and Avid Editing is preferred. (Reel may be requested)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
