Job Summary:

This team is responsible for providing financial reporting, analysis and strategic support for the Walt Disney Company advertising sales efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop talent within the team
  • Compensation/Headcount analysis (attend weekly recruiting meetings to track opens, confirmed fills within budget, monthly snapshot of headcount)
  • Manage the communication of the allocation to the business units (ie ESPN, WDTV, and DTCI)
  • Liaison between Finance team and business owners, which will require frequent check-ins to establish a working partnership
  • Review and distribution management reporting to business owners and executive team
  • Process improvement (invoicing, approvals, etc)
  • Focus on major areas of work, typically 20% or more of role
  • In coordination with business stakeholders, deliver streamlined reporting packages and detailed variance analysis for Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Long Range Plan (LRP), forecasts, quarter closes and other analyses as required to Planning, Controllership, Corporate and Business Unit Finance teams
  • Maintain and improve cost planning models utilizing SAP data
  • Understand and prepare sales cost allocations to lines of business
  • Support ongoing effort to merge organization utilizing Cognos tools, data and reporting standardization, Café reporting, pro formas and adjustments as needed
  • Ad hoc analysis of cost expenditures

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of related experience, preferably in a media environment
  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning and accounting
  • Strong analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
  • Proven ability to build relationships and interact with all levels of management
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling experience and PowerPoint proficiency
  • SAP and Cognos knowledge preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
