Responsibilities:This producer will create an hour-by-hour rundown in iNews to support coverage throughout their shift and make sure the channel has everything it needs to run properly each day. They will liaise between the Live Operations Producers and the Editorial/Production teams in the control room who produce anchored coverage. This role will be responsible, along with Live Operations Producers, to pitch and produce live events for possible airing on ABC News Live. This person will support the channel’s promotions workflows, any new distribution or expansion of the channel, assist with our electronic programming guide (think of this like as a "TV Guide" for streaming) and provide support in clearing and facilitating outside content that will appear on the channel.
- Proficiency in iNews or similar newsroom software
- Experience producing and coordinating multiple live events at the same time
- Proficiency in editing on Avid or similar program
- Strong writing skills, particularly as related to graphics
- Ability to work early mornings, late nights, holidays and weekends as news warrants.
- Strong editorial understanding of current events across various verticals (US News, International News, US politics, Election News, Entertainment/Business national stories)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
