This position is responsible for:

Oversight and management for the three (3) cafes, Starbucks, event support, catering, pantry operations, vending installations, client service communications and tenant support of all New York 66th Street Complex


  • Manage cost center budgets, track spending and provide financial forecast information
  • Manage all administrative aspects including tracking performance metrics for cleaning and maintenance, overall performance, identify areas of opportunity/efficiency and supply management/requisitioning
  • Oversee Service Agreements and Contracts issued to Vendors
  • Ensure appropriate insurance is obtained and kept current for third parties supporting all special events
  • Manage tenant services ie coffee machines, paper, etc.
  • Oversee the food service operation for the NY Campus at three cafes and one Starbucks
  • Maintains the facilities in all food service areas as per NYC codes
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner
  • Ensures that the Food Service Vendor follows all aspects of the Agreement
  • Plan menus and monitor food utilization based on supervision of the food service provider
  • Works with the Food Service Provider to improve services to employees
  • Ensure the service of kitchen’s Hood Fire Suppression System
  • Work with the peer position Manager, Client Services for exemplary kitchen, server and seating area cleanliness
  • Provide information pertaining to the NY Campus Food Service Operation Requirements for the purpose of developing a Service of Work document.
  • Work with Engineering to ensure all food service equipment and supporting infrastructure are operational and reliable
  • Establish opportunities with non-owned properties including Times Square Studios for catering and similar services
  • Coordinate bookings of event space at the main Disney/ABC campus-
  • Work with Engineering, Client Services and Risk Management for all aspects of event management
  • Work with the event manager to accommodate their requests
  • Implement a client friendly booking tool that also provides detailed information of each event for Operations staff
  • Standardize guidelines for events and production requests
  • Partner with Food Service/Catering provider staff for café promotions and marketing opportunities
  • Promote and drive “in house” catering for increased business
  • Coordinate and Plan events around Earth Day, Recycling Green Team and America Recycles Day while conducting web conferences, seminars and informational sessions throughout the year
  • Design, implement and manage the scheduled and ad hoc communications activities for the East Coast Operations group.
  • Optimize all communication to ensure all stakeholders within TWDC are engaged and informed.
  • Review and manage department objectives for the New York office as they pertain to department administration.
  • Research efficiencies where appropriate utilizing technology and other office administrative enhancements. Implement technology enhancements for the NY staff.
  • Engage in community relations as a point of contact.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years in Food Service and/or catering event planning or
  • 3 years overseeing a food service establishment
  • 3 years working with Union Personnel
  • 3 years managing operating budgets
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA safety and life safety standards
  • Applied knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Restaurant or catering manager or
  • ANSI certified Food Manager or
  • ANIS certified Food Protection Manager
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements certification
  • Spanish fluency a plus
  • Food Service Manager Certification

Additional Information

Must be able to work early morning, nights and weekends as needed when special events or when requested by supervising management.
