Job Summary:

Provide administrative support in Music Rights and Licensing department. The Music Coordinator will obtain, review, correct, file and coordinate distribution of music cue sheets for ABC Network programming. Where applicable, the Coordinator will follow-up with producers -- both within ABC as well as outside production companies to make sure all paperwork is complete, correct and submitted in a timely manner. Cue sheets will then be entered (either manually or electronically) into the SoundMouse cue sheet system. This position requires knowledge of music and the ability to research writer, performer, publisher, and record label information for music used on the network as well as be ability to maintain departmental files.

Administrative tasks include supporting the Executive Director and Director of Music Publishing, and other members of the Music Department on an as-needed basis. The Coordinator will assist the Executive Director throughout the clearance and licensing process, will research copyright ownership, negotiate publishing and master recording rights, review licensing agreements, administer payments and track the process.

Special skills/traits:
Independent, proactive, detail oriented, intelligent, good knowledge of computers, interest and knowledge in music publishing and desire to learn more.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 year admin experience or cue sheet preparation experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years, plus experience working with SAP and SoundMouse systems

Required Education

  • High School diploma plus music industry experience

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
