Interning with the ABC News Consumer Insights team gives a good idea of what it means to be an analyst in the television program research industry. Our team asks – What makes up the programs content? How does the production team format a program to best display content? Ultimately we hope to answer – How do these factors translate into ratings performance? And what segment of the population makes up a program’s audience? Our team works mostly with producers of ABC News program to best provide them with an accurate picture of how their programming performs.
ResponsibilitiesA day in the life…
•Analyzing audience data and maintaining tracks
•Creating, analyzing and distributing Daily Time Period Reports, Final Weekly Reports and Weekly Minute by
•Participating in News and Sales Development Intern Project
Basic QualificationsWhat you bring to the role…
•Strong proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
•Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel with the demonstrated ability to prepare analyses under strict deadlines
•Demonstrated interest in News and/or Media
•Strong organizational skills, a high attention to detail, and strong analytical skills
•High level of comfort in basic math and large complex sets of data
As well as...
•All students must be eligible to work in the US
•All students must be at least 18 years old
•You must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship.
•All candidates must be available from May to August
•All candidates must be willing to work full-time 40 hours/week
•All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
Preferred Qualifications•Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year or recent graduate
•Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
