Job Summary:


The Web Content & Product Manager will be responsible for identifying the future-state vision and implementation of Disney Publishing Worldwide’s (DPW) web presence. This includes providing go-forward recommendations for the evolution of DPW’s websites, web content, and metadata, as well as managing the maintenance and development of DPW’s consumer-facing marketing websites including,, and others.

You will provide leadership a go-forward recommendation for web strategy, process, and resourcing by reviewing DPW’s current state and identifying areas to optimize, processes to automate, and new capabilities to create. You have an eye toward improving UI/UX, streamlining user flow to increase sales, and enabling more effective, data-driven paid and organic marketing campaigns. You will serve as the primary lead in scoping, recommending, and project managing the launch of the future state of our marketing websites.

Alongside DPW’s marketing team, you will create effective consumer touchpoints in a web environment that help enable data-driven marketing campaigns to drive engagement, awareness and point-of-sale for our books, including franchise tie-in titles for Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic, ESPN, and more.

You will report directly to the Director, Content Strategy - Adult & Operations at DPW.

This is an 18 month project hire.


Project Planning and Management

  • Partner with the content marketing directors to provide recommendations on how to best re-scope and update the core DPW websites to be more automated, user-friendly, SEO-friendly and mobile-friendly.
  • Partner with the content marketing team to build programmatic solutions to common publishing needs such as category collections, custom carousel collections, event landing pages, blog posts, pre-order campaigns, etc.
  • Work with internal and external teams and vendors to bring the future of DPW’s web presence to fruition, overseeing and driving the process.
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to streamline metadata creation and optimization.

Content Planning and Management

  • Maintain existing marketing websites, partnering with internal teams to plan and execute content refreshes and catalog updates
  • Build custom landing page solutions for consumer-facing advertising campaigns, marketing promotions, and events, leveraging and managing external vendors as needed
  • Serve as liaison between the technical development teams (internal and external) and the marketing department to execute on all website needs
  • Manage marketing’s domain names, vanity URLs, and hosting services
  • Create basic analytics reporting to gauge the effectiveness of a paid or organic campaign

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience working in content management systems (Wordpress preferred)
  • 2+ years experience in web product management
  • Experience evaluating existing web ecosystems, providing go-forward recommendations, and project managing implementation
  • Strong working knowledge of eCommerce business, UX/UI design, AdTech
  • Knowledge and experience in the development of API-integrated websites
  • Experience managing technical, user, and business issues
  • Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively and drive ideas into action, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal initiative

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with book publishing-specific metadata and taxonomy
