Job Summary:

Good Morning America is hiring a Producer.

This is a Project position and employment will continue on this Project (at the company’s sole discretion), and in no event shall extend past the completion of the Project.

Responsibilities:

The Producer is responsible for producing daily content for program air under very tight deadlines and helping manage Good Morning America updates to ensure the broadcast is accurate with most current elements available across all time zones. The producer should be well versed on a range of current events—everything from foreign and domestic breaking news to business, sports, and entertainment headlines. Also requires training in an automated control room environment and self-ordering of graphics and lower-thirds. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a proven ability to make editorial judgments as well as an overall understanding of News programs.

Responsibilities include:
  • Playing back clips to air while working with show Producer and Director to determine most appropriate content for air.
  • Managing multiple feeds of incoming media and turning around for immediate playback as necessary.
  • Identifying the best shots, cataloguing, clipping and making video available to all platforms.
  • Maintaining and prioritizing video clips (track pieces, thematic voiceovers, sound bites, archival media) and researching, editing, storing video.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of "greatest hits" video and will work with show to anticipate needs.
  • Sourcing and clearing user generated content (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) for use on all platforms during breaking news
  • Supporting programs by producing and editing video.
  • Preparing package video research and performing other special projects as needs arise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years’ experience producing for a live news show at the large market, cable, or network level
  • Working knowledge of AVID, non-linear editing and administrative tools (e.g., Avid Nexus, MediaCentral), Social Media, and basic computer proficiency and understanding of iNews, MARS, MS Office, etc is required.
  • Flexible hours, including flexibility with working early mornings, late nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building a rundown preferred.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
