Programmatic Data-Driven Sales Manager

ABC is seeking an exceptional candidate to join the team charting the vision, strategy and execution of programmatic and data–driven sales. This individual will report to the VP, Programmatic & Data-Driven Sales and will be responsible for success in a variety of areas spanning: programmatic yield optimization and reporting, sales automation technology, vendor assessment and management, advertiser RFP response and direct sales support, audience insights and DMP audience creation, and the planning, management and optimization of targeted ad campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programmatic ad technology, along with an in-depth understanding of programmatic sales and operations. She/he will also need a strong analytical skillset and will be able to learn quickly and adapt as the industry, technology and our strategy evolve.


  • Work across the ABC Digital portfolio that span,, GMA on Yahoo, and other distribution channels (e.g. Hulu) drive to programmatic revenue.
  • Maximize revenue, margin, and eCPM for the portfolio of impressions sold programmatically.
  • Design metrics and develop tools and reports to track, analyze and optimize programmatic revenue.
  • Stay abreast of the programmatic ecosystem and propose and evaluate new technologies and vendors, in collaboration with Ads Ops and Technology teams.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure consistent monitoring and maintenance of technical integration with current vendors and technologies.
  • Work with the direct sales team to evaluate and propose audience targeting solutions for clients. Work directly in the ABC DMP to build custom audiences, track performance and make audience optimizations.
  • Confidently present complex data-driven solutions to various stakeholders including ABC management, advertisers and agencies.
  • Be a subject matter expert on data-driven media and assist in the education, training and support of the broader ABC sales organization.
  • Provide analysis and insight on programmatic and data-driven industry news and events.
  • Represent ABC at industry events and with trade associations on issues related to data-driven sales.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in Programmatic Sales or Technical Sales Support for an ad agency, trading desk, publisher, or ad technology company
  • Excellent quantitative/analytical skills and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Hands on experience working within ad technology interfaces, including ad servers, SSPs, DMPs and DSPs
  • Hands on experience with the implementation and maintenance/trouble-shooting of ad technology and programmatic or targeted ad campaigns
  • Ability to simplify the complex and present with confidence to senior internal and external parties

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record
