QA Analyst II

Job Summary:

Comprised of Disney’s international media businesses and the Company’s various streaming services, the Direct-to-Consumer and International segment aligns technology, content and distribution platforms to expand the Company’s global footprint and deliver world-class, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world. This segment is responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the ESPN+ sports streaming service, programmed in partnership with ESPN; Disney+, the dedicated streaming home for entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic; and the Company’s ownership stake in Hulu. As part of the Direct-to-Consumer and International segment, the software engineering team is responsible for development, maintenance, and improvement of all consumer and cast-facing technology products including websites, apps, and OTT experiences.

The DTCI productivity engineering team is seeking a skilled and dedicated Quality Assurance Analyst II to join our team. As a QA Analyst II, this individual will work together with the software engineering team to define and execute the testing coverage needs for our consumer facing web applications. They will also work closely with the product teams and various other external development teams. Additionally, this role will require the candidate to be the QA lead for multiple releases and to participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle including planning, design, test execution and release.

Responsibilities:

  • Find, replicate, and regress defects and write reproducible steps in our bug database system. Additionally, ensure that validated deliverables meet functional specifications and requirements.
  • Participate in sprint plan review meetings to review functional and design specs and understand how those impact features in development. This includes leading supplemental test plan reviews with peers, developers and product team members.
  • Effectively communicate defects to developers responsible for products in test, and leads various test sessions with key members of the delivery team to ensure functionality of product(s).
  • Work with our Automation team to translate manual test cases in automated test scripts and execute automated test scripts when available
  • Work closely with our offshore QA team members to ensure they are fully integrated


Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ year of relevant QA experience
  • Experience testing on web platforms
  • Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure ability to write test plans and test cases. To communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables – ensures the ability to find the bad defects and bugs quickly
  • Knowledge and understanding of Application Lifecycle Management, Software Development and Agile Development/Testing practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of test management tools
  • Working understanding of techniques for testing software
  • Experience using automated test tools, proxy tools (such as Charles) or API testing tools (such as Postman)
  • Ability to work and participate in a team with open and collaborative style of communications
  • Passion for software quality and for advancing testing as an engineering discipline
  • Strong problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated test tools
  • Experience executing automated scripts
  • Understanding of how to interpret the results of automated test runs
  • Experience writing test cases in Gherkin or Cucumber.
  • Knowledge of Disney’s product portfolio including 20th Century, Marvel, and National Geographic.
  • A passion for technology!

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or 4 years relevant experience
