Disney Entertainment Television’s ABC News Consumer Insights team oversees audience measurement for ABC News linear and ABC News on Hulu programs, as well as primary research across all ABC News brands. The team works closely with the ABC News executive team to inform content decisions with actionable insights.
The ABC News Consumer Insights team is the voice of the News consumer. In one day, it’s common for the team to work on insights projects across a wide range of content including morning news, election coverage, talk shows, and pop culture documentaries.
The Research Manager will be a key point of contact for primary research projects, which includes pilot testing, program title testing, brand studies, and talent tracking. The team works collaboratively across primary research and audience measurement, and this role will also include day-to-day audience analytics support for linear and Hulu programs.
The position will report to the Executive Director of the ABC News Consumer Insights team and will have direct contact with ABC News executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with leaders to manage primary research projects from ideation to execution
Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative studies
Analyze, summarize, and debrief research findings, both written and verbal
Assist in presentation of primary research and audience insights to stakeholders
Act as a thought partner with key news stakeholders and research vendors in managing and coordinating projects from top to bottom
Support ABC News’ audience measurement needs, including daily Nielsen ratings reports and News on Hulu analytics
Provide insights into topics impacting the news landscape, including current content landscape trends and viewing behavior
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience supporting / conducting primary research projects – both qualitative and quantitative at a media/entertainment company, research supplier or brand consultancy
Skilled at data visualization and creating impactful presentations and deliverables
Project management experience
Dedication to delivering the highest quality work; unflagging attention to detail
Flexible; embraces new assignments with a can-do attitude as priorities change
Collaborative and able to work with a variety of teams and stakeholders
Experience with news content a strong plus
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong familiarity with the news and documentary landscape across linear and streaming
Familiarity with Nielsen ratings and systems, with a desire to become a proficient user (NPower, NNTV)
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Economics, Psychology or Sociology
The hiring range for this position in New York is $86,400 to $118,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
