Job Summary:We are looking for a Senior Broadcast Engineer to join our dynamic ABC TV Network team in New York City. This position will oversee multiple technology initiatives focused on deploying new facilities within ABC News and take a leadership role in accomplishing those tasks. This role will be multi-faceted: a large portion will be centered on deploying a new lab environment intended to simulate workflows ABC News wants to deploy in their new production facility. This will involve extensive vendor interaction, management and coordination of all aspects of this conceptual facility. Additional responsibilities will include support for general Engineering projects, being a liaison between Engineering and Production, helping to install new systems and mange existing applications. This person would likely assist in system administration on a number of key production systems, as well as take a lead role in the conversion of facilities to Media-over-IP, including management of the architecture and deployment. Other key responsibilities will include facility documentation, cable path documentation, asset procurement and disposal as well as interface with assembly and technical support groups.
- Significant experience in technical production operations and facilities, including both Post and Live applications
- Experience in Media-over-IP systems
- Experience with dynamic production workflows
- Experience in deploying and managing applications in a production environments is critical
- Experience with Autocad, Visio or other documentation programs
- Knowledge of broadcasting and IT equipment and existing standards
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
