Senior Manager, Finance - Direct to Consumer - Disney +

As a result, the Disney Streaming Services team helped pioneer live event streaming over the Internet in 2002 for Major League Baseball. The passion to improve that experience led to many impressive firsts: the first 720p or “HD Ready” stream, the consecutive record for concurrent streams and the first stream in 8K ultra HD. Today Disney Streaming Services has a proven, scalable platform that powers direct-to-consumer applications for leading entertainment brands; and is now a major player in sports and eSports rights acquisition.

We are seeking a Senior Manager that will play a key role within the direct to consumer group which supports digital streaming for the ESPN+ and the upcoming launch of Disney+ later this year. He/She will be responsible for modeling paid market spend and the reforecasting of the subscriber acquisition models and resulting revenue modifications.

This detailed modeling will need to be summarized for daily, weekly and monthly reporting based on actuals and then the overall financial forecast and plan process should incorporate the product’s latest actuals. This role will also need to understand the variable cost per subscriber based on the technology platform and incremental spend.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate the Long Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and Forecasts
  • Develop impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials, etc.) that effectively communicates financial projections, drivers, business performance, risks and opportunities to DSS leadership
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain financial planning models for the streaming service, content spend, technology spend and paid market spend

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience with video streaming company
  • Excellent modeling skills with a special talent to defend model assumptions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Very strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues
  • High level of proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Able to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and resolve issues quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Skilled in distilling insights from data and synthesizing and crafting compelling presentations for executive audiences, both financial and non-financial
  • Able to maintain both rigorous attention to detail and a big-picture, strategic mindset
  • Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Education

  • MBA
